Saxby Saves Republicans

No 60-seat filibuster-proof majority in the senate for the Democrats.
Incumbent Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss has defeated Democratic challenger, Jim Martin.
This was a big one. If Chambliss had lost this run-off vote, it would have certainly meant a single-party, dictatorial, out of control Democratic Party.
Nevermind what this would have meant in the culture war if the Dems had gained a stranglehold on one half the legislative branch.
Another take by ajc.com
Along with Norm Coleman defeating whack-job, Al Franken, this takes that dream of an unopposed Democratic congress and pops that balloon.

Sarah Palin did her part.

I think her support put Chambliss over the top.
