Kind of a long story, but around the age of 25, essentially I just noticed how the Republicans (and especially conservatives)were always the bad guys and the liberal-Democrats were always the good guys...ALWAYS! That just didn't make sense to me. How can one group of people ALWAYS be wrong or "evil" 100% of the time for at least the last 50 years!!
Moreover I noticed ever so gradually how the media tended to favor one party or idiology ov erthe other...ALL THE TIME! Something was not right. Also, I'd be watching TV and the so-called "experts" or "historians" would say something on some panel/discussion show about history that I KNEW not to be true. AS it turned out all of these "experts" were left-leaning in their philosophies and when confronted on their ideas or way of thinking, they couldn't answer direct questions or produce any evidence to their argument. Anyways that was the genesis of my metamorphasis. I was actually a "liberal" thinker when I was 18 (if you're 18 and not a liberal, you don't have a heart; if you're 30 and not a conservative, you don't have a brain) but I "turned to the dark side" as it were, after doing some research and finding out things weren't as the left wanted me to believe, I just opened my eyes, I guess. That's the short version of a long story.
You should hear the arguments from people who get their "news" from The Daily Show, MTV, left-wing blogs or their ex-hippie parents. Hilarious! You know the type, "Bush was behind 9/11" "blood for oil," "USA created terrorism," or "if we're nice to terrorists (but don't fear them, because they're mothers and fathers) they'll be nice to us" And so forth...
That is very similar to my story. I was raised by liberal parents whom I would describe as "1940's Democrats". They are astonished at where their *party of the people* has gone.
I was a liberal until 1994, when I was 22. I had voted for Clinton in '92 and was disenchanted. I too noticed a huge left-leaning media bias. At times it is so subtle; to the point where information is omitted if it paints a conservative in a positive light, or enhanced if it benefits a liberal view.
After 9-11, I started listening to talk radio. I cannot say that Rush, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck or any of those other guys are right all the time. Sometimes they are just as annoying as the far left. But it is good to get the other side for a change.
Hollywood drives me crazy. It is hard to like any of these actors anymore, because they are so disrespectful, ect. And you are right about those who get their "news" from MTV. Anyway, I love your blog! It makes me smile. :)
I too started listening to tal-radio after 9/11. I got hooked right away. I don't really listen to Rush that much, but I do think he knows what he's talking about. I usually keep it on one station and listen to Micheal Medved, Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager. Don't care too much for Savage, he's a bit too arragant and rude for my liking. But he has plenty of good points, too. Sean Hannity has lost my faith. He's become such a windbag. He pretty much clinched it when he interviewed Kim Kardashian and told her she was a role model for young girls?? Make a sex tape as a minor and your a role model and instant celebrity? Don't we have enough Paris Hiltons and people famous for doing nothing?

Great link! So, how did you become "Conservative Jedi"? Where did you *right* way of thinking originate?
