In the Name of Throat-Stuffing...
Blinky has decided all on her lonesome to kill the promising "trigger" option that was the only apperatus yet that seemed to be bringing the Dems healthcare bill to fruition. She decided the hell with partisanship and to throw the House Blue-Dog Democrats under the bus all so she can form Obamacare in her image.
“I don't even want to talk about a trigger,” Pelosi said at her weekly press conference. She said the “attitude” of her fellow Democrats is that “a trigger is an excuse for not doing anything.”
"Pelosi told her fellow leaders last week that she planned to write a bill that includes a public option tied to Medicare rates, pulling back from a deal she and other leaders had cut with a group of Blue Dog Democrats in July."
Do any of the House Democrats really want to follow this woman into the unemployment lines? Not to mention a little place reserved especially for liberal Dems (ala clearly anti-Semitic, Smiling Jimmy Carter?)
She really wants to have her position as Speaker challenged, doesn't she. I guess she's tired of the free gas, comfortable first-class, private jets and all those beautiful government benefits. Afterall, the lowly plebiens of America certainly cannot be allowed to "have the same plan as Congress does."

Basically, in drawing this line in the sand, Pelosi has said “happy trails” to moderates. She wants to push through a radical agenda, and she thinks that her progressive caucus will be enough to make it happen.
