Robert Byrd Dies

Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd has died at the age of 92. As to be expected, just like when Ted Kennedy passed, without any mention or very little, of Chappaquiddick it was all honorariums and respect from the left without hardly any mention of his lengthy membership in the Klu Klux Klan or his filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Even ABC's Diane Sawyer said, "Byrd was a powerhouse and old-fashioned crowd-pleaser on the stump, whipping out his fiddle. Byrd had followed in Caesar's 'footsteps."
Chip Reid excused Byrd's tenure in the Klan as “an effort to help his political career.”

From the CNN website:

"West Virginia Sen. Robert Byrd, the self-educated son of a coal miner who became the longest-serving member of Congress, died early Monday at age 92...a nine-term Democrat, was known as a master of the chamber's often-arcane rules and as the self-proclaimed "champion of the Constitution," a jealous guardian of congressional power. Colleagues are remembering Byrd for his humble nature, fighting spirit and determination.

Not his days longing for segregation or to lynch southern blacks.

I will eat my hat when the day finally arrives when the MSM will excuse any wrong-doing by a Republican or conservative just for simply being in that party.
