Texan Wins 'White Man' Scholarship

A controversial non-profit organization announced it has awarded the second of five academic scholarships to a Texas man. Among the criteria: the recipient must be white and male.

There's that label again, "controversial." Whenever there's something going on that doesn't involve immigrants, minorities or Democrats (sometime all three) it's "controversial." If it emanates from the left it's "progressive." What's so progressive about "reverse" racism? (although racism is racism, so I never understood that term)

But what's the big deal about this? If there are scholarships to help poor or educationally under-developed minorities (black-only scholarships, for example-not to mention Black Entertainment Television (BET) and the ESPY Awards and Black History month-which I agree with actor Morgan Freeman on when he asked isn't Black History month a part of U.S. history?) Why can't there be a award for the most qualified Caucasian? Not that I have a problem with any of the others. What I do have a big problem with is when anybody but minorities are rewarded for a job well done or for simply be a gifted scholastic Caucasian, then labeled as a racist. Or at least the institution that handed out said award is.

Everybody talks about equality. That's it. They talk about it. But when equality actually rears it's head, all of a sudden it's racism. When does this madness end?
