Khadr Pleads Guilty
The Canadian citizen who was caught in Afghanistan as a 15-year old combatant against U.S. forces, Omar Khadr has pleaded guilty to to all five charges against him, including murder and supporting terrorism. This is part of an attempted plea deal to have the rest of his 16-year sentence served in Canada. As part of Canadian law, he will get credit for time served while incarcerated since his capture in 2002. Since he has served eight years already, that means should he serve the remainder of his time in Canada, he will only have to serve an additional eight years.
