Chris Christie Smacks Down WaPo's Capehart

A thing of beauty, this is. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie totally schooled an Obama apologist Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC yesterday morning on Morning Joe. No matter what your stance on gay marriage is, Capehart played right into Christie's hands when he tried to defend the president by typically reaching right into the left's playbook and misinforming Morning Joe viewers, saying that President Obama has "made it clear" that he believes that the Defense of Marriage Act is un-Constitutional. He hasn't. Like Christie said, Obama has never made anything clear. Especially when he says "Let me be clear" and then flips on the issue. One time soon after being elected in 2008, he contradicted himself at the airport two hours after "making himself clear." The president also has a tendency of not getting involved when it doesn't politically benefit him. He's still voting "present" it seems.
Christie went on to call Capehart on his embellishment, as well as his attempt at playing amateur attorney.

"What I’ve offered to the supporters of same sex marriage is," Christie told Capehart, "If one of your reasons for why I should have signed it is because you’re telling me the majority of the people in New Jersey want it then prove it. Put it on the ballot and prove it. At least I’m standing up for what I believe in. The President has hidden on this issue, Jonathan, he’s hidden on it. He wants to have it both ways."

Why isn't this man running for president?
