All in the Name of Saving Face
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is expected to outline the legal framework for the use of lethal force in targeted killings of Americans overseas in a major speech at Northwestern University, reports the Associated Press.
This is apparently only in response to three recently filed lawsuits "that have sought to force the Obama administration to publicly release its legal justification for the drone strike that killed U.S.-born al-Qaida cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen."
A lawyer for a terrorist wants to know why his client was killed and Obama sends his Attorney General? Is this what this is, damage control? Who cares about the legal justification in killing the mastermind behind a plan to bring down an airliner on one of the most celebrated Christian holidays? If lethal force in killing global terrorists or anyone targeting Americans overseas has been legal since September 2001, tell this ambulance chaser to pay attention to the wire services.
