Craig Flips

So Senator Larry Craig has now said he will not resign following his "lude conduct" conviction until the end of his term. He originally said he would resign at the end of October, pending the outcome of his appeal of his conviction. But now he says he can still do his job effectively. Any takers he's betting on all this blowing over, then running for re-election?
The judge refused to rescind his confession (and rightfully so) who described Craig's confession as "made in the right mind, intelligent and backed up by the evidence."
From what I understand though, tapping your foot while in a public bathroom stall is not really evidence of lude conduct. I'm not even really sure if that particular action in itself is a crime.

Having said that, I do believe Craig should resign. One, because he said he would, two, because he was convicted, and three, because it really is a distraction to the Republican party and politics in general.

Although I cannot let it go unsaid that his decision to stay until the end of his term is really no different than public official on the left retaining office after somewhat similar convictions or indiscretions, such as Jefferson Davis or Marion Berry.
