Why Obama Can Use Drones to Bomb and Bush Couldn't
Other than the clear hypocrisy from the left that Obama is God and Bush is Hitler/The Devil, therefore Das Wunderkind can do no wrong, the left seems split on the president ordering drones to engage in seek and destroy missions against American citizens that are a threat to national security that are designated traitors. I for one think this is one of the best foreign policy strategies by Obama since he was sworn in to office in 2009.
However, it seems some liberals are wearing their hypocrisy hats a little too tight these days, since they cried for the impeachment of George W. Bush for the same thing (among other war-time strategies that they didn't agree with) and that they couldn't come up with a better, feasible answer for-and that ended up working no less.
Newsweek's Tina Brown must have slipped up this week when she honestly said that "[Obama] would be impeached by now for drones if he was [George] W. Bush...I think that if this was a Republican president, the outcry about drones would be far greater." She'll probably have to "clarify" her statements when the left is done picking her bones.
Of course, she's in in fact very correct. And indeed, there are those on the left who can't bring themselves to be sacrilegious towards their demigod in the White House, so right on cue, MSNBC has stepped up to offer a lame excuse as to why it's once again okay for Obama to do what he does, but not Bush or any other Republican president.
Not that it matters anymore anyway. I mean, really what difference, at this point, does it make? Huh? HUH? See what I did there? Not when Obama doesn't want anymore information getting out to the American public about drone strikes. Fast and Furious, his school records, his birth certificate (if you believe in that sort of thing) What else does Obama have to hide while blaming Republicans for being "obstructionists?"
