Iceman Jefferson Sentenced to 13 Years

William Jefferson the Democrat Representative from Louisiana was sentenced to 13 years for his role in accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes. The longest term ever handed down for Congressional corruption. Didn't hear much about it did ya?
I wonder if Joy Behar will treat him as a hero and run her fingers through his hair? When he gets out that is.

9/11 Terrorists to be Tried in NY

So President Obama has decided it cool (isn't everything he does that?) to bring the 9/11 perpetrators to New York city for civilian trials. He has promised to close Gitmo (yet another reason you can believe it probably won't happen) so the detainees must be represented by American trial lawyers. Great. If it works, the New York attorney General (assuming U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder doesn't feel the need to try the case himself and make a mockery out of the justice system-not to mention risking letting 11 mass murderers go free) will be pursuing the death penalty.

There's also the potential of, what the article states, "bringing them to U.S. soil could make New York a magnet for new attacks and that the men deserved military trials," and "should the prosecutions fail, or if it prompts further attacks, it could anger the victims' families and prompt a public backlash."

If the latter should come to pass, the president is d-o-n-e. There is no way he could recover from a scandal like that. His minions in the press and Congress would surely try, but it wouldn't do any good. Other than to those who follow him blindly now anyways.

The president really screwed up on this one. Even with successful prosecutions, there will always be the chance of terrorists going free after an attack. These guys are willing to die for their missions and their religion, do you think if there's a chance they might go free even after getting caught and going to trial it'll slow down attacks? It'll make would-be suicide-bombers think twice? All in the name of justice? This president really knows how to waste tax-payers money doesn't he?

But if there are convictions, do you think it will douse the flames of treason that are the 9/11 conspirators? Not bloody likely.

Bush Warns of Socialistic Agenda, Advocates the Free Market

Former President, George W. Bush was in Dallas yesterday to warn against the federal government's takeover of America's free-market institutions.
"The role of government is not to create wealth, but to create the conditions that allow entrepreneurs and innovators to thrive."

He's right y'know.

Obama Bows Again to Yet Another World Leader

Ok, the first time he showed his subordination to the King of Saudi Arabia, the BHO-loving media said he was simply taller than the Saudi king and was merely trying to get "eye to eye" with him. This time when meeting with the Emperor of Japan, Akihito.

"Very low bows like this are a sign of great respect and deference to a superior."

So, is Obama trying to make America look inferior yet again by cowtowing to another world leader or is he just simply trying to appease them and make America look "equal?" Are these two examples of the president merely trying to smooth over diplomatic relations (I really don't know what "smoothing over" with Japan is needed) If they are, there are better, more acceptable ways of doing so both the citizens of the U.S. and Japan are satisfied.

I suppose the real thing to care about is the content of their meetings, not the greetings beforehand. But to outsiders and the casual observer, these greetings may set the standard for what is discussed and transpires at these meetings. Could anyone be blamed for seeing these (albeit respectful) greetings and thinking the president will concede to almost anything (if not everything)

RNC’s Health Insurance Plan Covers Abortion

The left likes to lie about the right, that it has "no ideas of their own.' They have no alternative plans." "They're the party of 'no." Well that's a bunch of hogwash and the left knows it. They just don't want you to know it. Such as this, this and this...from the Congressional Budget Office, for starters.
Apparently this "coverage" was in place before Michael Steele was Chairman. That doesn't mean it should still be there and something will be done. But, since this has been the mantra of the right for the longest of times, why was it there to begin with? Surely they knew they were going to be called on it. I doubt the GOP thought it was a good idea to start with and surely they weren't "trying to get away" with anything. But, ignorance is no excuse.

So Fort Hood Shooter Hasan Was a Radical Muslim

I know, I know. I'm a racist and just want to spread Muslim hatred. Or...is it the actual extremists themselves (you know the ones that publicly profess their hatred and intolerance for anything or anyone non-Muslim) that are spreading the hate?
Didn't Hasan?

UPDATE: He was certainly following those that did.
And, he, allegedly, gave money to them.

Lou Dobbs Quits CNN

Was he forced out? Too conservative for the left-leaning Clinton network?
Will he end up at FOX?

D.C. Sniper Executed

John Allen Mohammad, aka, The Beltway Sniper has been executed for his crimes in the gas chamber of a Greensville Correctional Center. His accomplice, then-17-year-old, Lee Malvo is serving a life sentence.

With this, along with the recent shootings in Texas by a Muslim-American soldier, is it wrong to assume that these shootings had to do with radical Islamism? Is this a recent phenomenom? Has it to do with wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Has it to do with American foreign policy involvement anywhere? Or is it just a hatred for freedom and liberty and everything America?

America is racist and hateful! She had it coming! (for whatever attack no matter the reason)
Blah-blah-blah. It's always America's fault. She's always to blame. Islam to rule the world. Death to America
Oh wait. Nah. America is just paranoid and racist.

Obama Votes Present Again

Once again, this guy can't make a decision and once again the Obama-loving media covers for him.

Of the 100 times Obama was a Illinois State senator, he voted "present," none were as important as his (non) decision to put more troops into Afghanistan (ala Surge II) but once again, he'll let this one slide and I guess somebody else will decide for him. A little less easier to hide this one. Instead he "wants revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government."

And how is he going to do this when the Afghanis aren't ready yet? He simply refuses to learn any type of success from Bush.

Stewart Catches FOX Crafty Editing and Fudgy Numbers

Jon Stewart is on the ball and noticed a little MSNBC-type editing at FOX News. Good job by Stewart and I am disappointed in FOX to say the least. This was unneeded and like A Mess NBC, disgraceful, especially given the deriding of FOX News by White House officials and their anti-FOX minions in the MSM.

Watch how the left will now use this (and probably rightfully so) to further their war on FOX, of course at the same time ignoring MSNBC's follies.

ABC's Gibson Describes...Himself?

Last night, ABC World News Tonight anchor, Charles Gibson spoke before the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and actually said with a straight face, "I worry about the lack of objectivity and the future of the news business. "I don’t like the fact that they’re delivering news based on the conviction of its viewers." Or, [viewers who] "watch news that plays to their own prejudices."
He went on to say, "It’s not being very productive to have an opposition party that simply says, "We are going to fight the president no matter what on health-care reform. We are not going to give you a single vote and we are going to march in lock step against you. This is not good for the country."

In one word...Ha!

Chavez Strikes Again

Or is that Obama? I get the two confused now-a-days.
This is an EPA matter, but with a little head-fake by the president, I'm only guessing. I mean he does get the final decision does he not? There would be no doubt this would be a national uproar if W were still in command, right?
Cap and Trade is essential to Obama. Therefore any dissidence is simply not allowed.

Repubs Pick Up a Couple of Governors, Yet They're Still "Dying"

Despite the fact that the Republicans picked won a couple of governorships and more importantly, momentum, the left and their MSM allies can't bring themselves to admit they lost last Tuesday. Nope. Instead of that, thet choose to parrot the lefty talking point of how the GOP is in a "civil war." It wasn't true when they said it about Iraq, it certainly isn't true now. Jeez. What will the talking heads try to get past us when the Republicans take the White House back? Or even some seats in Congress?
"Look at those pathetic republicans. They're really done now."

Adrienne over at Sarah Palin 2012 has a nice take on it.

Bush Made Him Do It

Of course.

So forget the centuries of resentment. Forget the religious fervor (as MSNBC's Chris Tingle has already said, "We'll never know if religion had any part in this?" Forget the "Death to America, death to the west" chants that have been repeated for decades, if not centuries by radical Islamists. Forget every president since Truman to be hung in effegy. Mm hmm. It was Bush's fault. And it will continue to be, every time. Well into the 21st century. You lucky libs. You get to get off scot-free forever!!

Then again, it could have been the army. Or maybe it was the lack of...you guessed it, health care. Oh wait, I got it. It was the Christian right, that's it.

How about, the guy was a extremist, radical Islamist that saw his religion, and only his religion, under attack and he snapped. Nah. Had to be something other than the obvious.

House Passes Health Care Bill

After not reading anything. After not letting Americans know what's in it and after House conservatives from both parties called for imposing restrictions on abortion coverage, the House voted 200-215 to clear the way for the Senate to begin debate.

This is huge victory for President Obama. But should the Senate vote it down, this very well still could be his Waterloo. A term the left hates to hear (they hate to hear anything that may have connotations with any Obama political defeat) but a fitting one.

"United in opposition, minority Republicans cataloged their objections across hours of debate on the 1,990-page, $1.2 trillion legislation.
'We are going to have a complete government takeover of our health care system faster than you can say, `this is making me sick,' jabbed Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich., adding that Democrats were intent on passing "a jobs-killing, tax-hiking, deficit-exploding' bill."

If this passes in the Senate, there very well couold be "coverage" for "ninety-six" percent of Americans (including those ol' illegals remember) but it will also be yet another socialist take-over for Obama. The tired old argument of soft socialism doesn't hold water. You know, the police, fire, garbage, libraries and other government programs-even parks and recreation?-being government "socilaistic" policies. Well, no. Julius ceaser implemented those type of policies, too and they may have been good (overall) for the people, but didn't he turn a Republic into an Empire? Wasn't he a dictator?

"Obama had said the day's vote, "is going to define the difference between the Republican and Democratic parties for decades."
It sure is. It'll surely define the deficit, too.

To be continued...

As you can plainly see, Fox is leading in every single category. And not just by a couple of thousand, but by a couple of million viewers in most cases.

Can this guy stop lying enough for him to even take a breath?

And as a side-note, as Sheppard stated (as well as a reader said in the comment section) "Shouldn't the NFL immediately consider telling NBC it no longer wants Olbermann associated with "Sunday Night Football" broadcasts?
Isn't this FAR worse than anything Rush Limbaugh was falsely accused of?"
Not when you're a liberal.

What's Wrong with Your Leg?

Much like you don't mention the president's ears, don't ever bring up Chris Matthew's "tingly legs." He doesn't like it. Aw.

You notice Matthews was all Smiley McLaughy when he was mocking his guest. But when the subject of his now-famous "tingle up the leg" comment was brought up, he feigned ignorance about it and immediately got upset. "See, this is- this is. I’m going to- What do you mean? How is your leg? What do you mean? Your leg’s tingling? I don’t get what you mean- what you mean?"

I thought for a moment I was going to see another Imus moment where he showed his bias and was going to drop another F-bomb.

A Mess NBC's "token" had it right. Poor Tingle.

GOP Wins in Virginia and New Jersey, MSM: No Big Deal

With the victories of Republicans in Virginia and New Jersey on Wednesday, the three major networks thought that even though attempts by President Obama in stump speeches to support the Democrat candidates had virtually no affect on the outcome, the GOP haven't made any headway and that this is in no way a pre-cursor for the 2010Congressional elections.

Via Newsbusters' Brent Baker. Also the Los Angeles Times continues it's mediocrity and shrinking readership with it's transparency, highlited by Matthew Sheffield.
Of course, do I even have to mention the New York Times bias and sour grapes? Even before all the returns were in?
According to the Grey Lady, the Republican victories were due to the conservative candidates going moderate.

Even though Dierdre Scozzafava dropped out due to her liberal views and unpopularity among voters (with the help of Tim Pawlenty and Sarah Palin's endorsements of Doug Hoffman, that like the above-mentioned endorsement of Obama for NJ and VA Democrats, meant nada) Hoffman surprisingly lost to retired Air Force captain, Bill Owens. But even with that, the Times' staff saw the silver lining in Scozzafava's loss as she "still picked up 5 percent of the vote."
Do you think if that she was a conservative Republican instead of the true liberal that she is, it would have said that she "only" picked up five percent?

As Sheffield says, "No matter how well Republicans do electorally, there is always going to be a cadre of media spinners predicting sunny skies for Democrats."

Reagan Would be Too Liberal for the GOP Today

My stomach hurts from laughing so hard.

This is Where All the "Stimulus" Money Went?

Or should I say, hasn't? There's a lot of money being wasted and/or sat on.

Would you expect anything less from the Dems? Their history is full of false promises and wasted money. I mean seriously, a $219,000 study on the sex lives of university women? 3.4 million for turtles? Really? They better be doing some scientific experiments and turning them into humanoid-type, ninja-assassins to secretly take out America's enemies or something useful.
Money well spent? Pfft, right.

Clinton Name Carries No Weight with Abbas

She's trying. I'll give her that, but it seems Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton isn't breaking any ground with Mid-East peace talks. But then again, with the stubbornness and historic fallacies of men like Abbas, who can today?
Wait. Doesn't she represent "The One?" Isn't everyone supposed to fawn at anything he wishes from him or his representatives? What is going on here?

It's Official: Ed Schultz is a Scumbag

Up until this comment, Ed Schultz was barely on my radar. I couldn't care less of what this uninformed media waffle had to say or what he thought. And this isn't a endoersement of Joe Lieberman by any means. But, when you call somebody's wife a whore; about somebody that is not one and doesn't deserve such a disgusting attack (save that for the Madonna's and Kim Kardashians of the world) Schultz needs to appologize NOW!

I could see the headlines now (as well as the bile seeping from the pours of any lefty that heard it) if say Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly had said it about some Democrats wife. As for Limbaugh, I'm surprised the liberal media hasn't already gotten their spin doctors on it trying to attribute yet another bogus quote to him.
How long should we all hold our collective breath until Schultz appologizes or someone in the liberal media forces him to be accountable for it? I hope you like the color blue.
Liberal hypocrisy srikes again.

I suppose when you're on a network that has embarrassingly low ratings, you have to be controversial to get viewers. But seriously, what a goof.

Where Are All the Hurricanes Al?

Around the time former Vice-President, Al Gore's propaganda film, An Inconvenient Truth was all the rage (much like his temper when he was berating former president Bush, "He preyed on our fears!" which is hypocrisy epitomized) the Goracle gladly and fraudulently was a part of an Oscar-winning "film" that purported to fortell the not-so-distant future with major cities, New York and Montreal being under water from 50-foot waves due to melted polar ice-caps, along with abnormal hurricane activity (that was the reason for Katrina you know-no, Bush didn't start that one either) that simply never materialized. In fact it appears the exact opposite is is true.

Where is Gore (not his minions of "Nobel lauriets," but Gore himself to dispute these findings with his little "hockey-stick" charts and computer models? I guess you don't have to debate anything when the "debate is over." Especially since you have a Nobel Peace prize (a lot of that going around these days) and an Oscar (that doesn't have his name on it) that says you are untouchable. Ah, the life of an elitist.
