13-Year-Old Defines Conservatism at CPAC

And gets a standing ovation.

Video of his appearence at CPAC:

Remember that 12-year-old girl’s stemwinder on abortion? This is kind of like that, but probably more intense, if not more to the point.

The conservatives of the future are turning out to be younger and younger, huh?

More of the Same Defense of Bush

Again, he was not the worst president. Do I have to keep repeating this? Apparently so. There are still a lot of ignoramuses out there.

Thomas Fleming also shares this view.

Moreover, so does President Obama on the surge. In so many words. That is to say, he won't directly credit Bush with any success, but how else can he credit the success in Iraq? He sure wasn't for it, and clearly he still won't give credit where credit is due, even to this day.
Obama is not hesitant about letting you know who he "inherited" the economy from (he's also forgetting a lot of people in his own party) but he won't credit all the right people with the reason he can even contemplate withdrawing any troops today.

Dishonest Reporting Awards

In this time of the annual entertainment awards season, I think it's fitting to "award" the media institutions that did their job with the least honesty, objectivity and most bias towards Israel and the on-going Middle East conflicts, wherever they may arise. It doesn't matter who's at fault. For you see, the liberal press throughout the globe will, much like they did (and continue to do) with President Bush; blame all the world's ills on Israel, no matter what the contrary may be.

From HonestReporting .com

More of the MSM Attacking the "Terrorist State" of Israel

Now, even non-governmental agencies are getting on the "Israel is the only bad country in the world" bandwagon.

Case in point. It doesn't seem to matter if it's Bush, Israel, American soldiers or anyone else defending either their own national soverignty, or liberty in general; if it doesn't jive with the liberal media's left-wing agenda, it and anyone defending it, are all bad.

Pathetic.

Obama Declares War on Investors, Entrepreneurs, Businesses, And More

By Larry Kudlow

AP
President Barack Obama
Let me be very clear on the economics of President Obama’s State of the Union speech and his budget.
He is declaring war on investors, entrepreneurs, small businesses, large corporations, and private-equity and venture-capital funds.
That is the meaning of his anti-growth tax-hike proposals, which make absolutely no sense at all — either for this recession or from the standpoint of expanding our economy’s long-run potential to grow.

Raising the marginal tax rate on successful earners, capital, dividends, and all the private funds is a function of Obama’s left-wing social vision, and a repudiation of his economic-recovery statements. Ditto for his sweeping government-planning-and-spending program, which will wind up raising federal outlays as a share of GDP to at least 30 percent, if not more, over the next 10 years.

What's In Obama's Budget

This is nearly double the government-spending low-point reached during the late 1990s by the Gingrich Congress and the Clinton administration. While not quite as high as spending levels in Western Europe, we regrettably will be gaining on this statist-planning approach.
Study after study over the past several decades has shown how countries that spend more produce less, while nations that tax less produce more. Obama is doing it wrong on both counts.
And as far as middle-class tax cuts are concerned, Obama’s cap-and-trade program will be a huge across-the-board tax increase on blue-collar workers, including unionized workers.

Industrial production is plunging, but new carbon taxes will prevent production from ever recovering. While the country wants more fuel and power, cap-and-trade will deliver less.
The tax hikes will generate lower growth and fewer revenues. Yes, the economy will recover. But Obama’s rosy scenario of 4 percent recovery growth in the out years of his budget is not likely to occur. The combination of easy money from the Fed and below-potential economic growth is a prescription for stagflation. That’s one of the messages of the falling stock market.

Essentially, the Obama economic policies represent a major Democratic party relapse into Great Society social spending and taxing. It is a return to the LBJ/Nixon era, and a move away from the Reagan/Clinton period. House Republicans, fortunately, are 90 days sober, as they are putting up a valiant fight to stop the big-government onslaught and move the GOP back to first principles.

Noteworthy up here on Wall Street, a great many Obama supporters — especially hedge-fund types who voted for “change” — are becoming disillusioned with the performances of Obama and Treasury man Geithner.
There is a growing sense of buyer’s remorse.
Well then, do conservatives dare say: We told you so?

Obama Iraq Withdrawal Speech Met with Embarrassing ‘Tepid’ Response

So says CNN. As well as Amy Proctor.

Until he starts doing things differently (i.e. not acting like a far-left, Huffington Post, MoveOn.org reading liberal) he will continue to get respectful "golf claps" whenever he visits the troops. They know that their new commander-in-chief is just not that behind them.

An excellent comment was left on AP's blog about this very thing:

"The Obama administration is ignoring the vital role of the morale in our military. In his state of the Union speech, Obama referred to ways to “responsibly end” the Iraq war. I cannot think a way to responsibly end the war without also calling it “victory.” Why would the commander in chief not want to use the term “victory?”

But alas, I know the answer. For the last half decade, Obama and most of the Democratic Party made good political hay in bashing the war, despite voting to start it and fund it. Lead by the likes of Harry “the war is lost” Reid, John “in cold blood” Murtha, and Hillary “absence of disbelief” Clinton they not only undermined the war, but falsely attacked the troops as well. It would take political courage for Obama to declare victory in a war he claimed was lost.
These circumstances do not lessen the glory, honor, and sacrifice of our military in their victory in Iraq. We quickly for forget the fall of Baghdad in less the 30 days with few casualties - An astonishing military victory. We also underestimate the skill and bravery required to fight “the Surge”, where our military successfully won the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people. Displaying a flexibility and discipline not shown in any previous military. Our troops deserve full recognition for the victory.

We have increased out troop presence in Afghanistan. The continuation of what may be long war. It would be wise for Commander in Chief Obama to remember the words of arguably the best military leader ever: “Morale is to material (in war) as is the ratio of three to one…Napoleon.” Few men will be inspired to “responsibly end” a war in Afghanistan."

Of course, the nutroots are whining "Not fast enough!"
Boo hoo.

Amen, Brother

There's a reason why this man has been able to stay not only successful, but relevent for the past 50 years. Because he represents what America has (or should have) come to represent.
Other than America's other voice (that is so dearly missed and needed right now) John Wayne, this is the man that should be America's conscience in today's age.

Why do you think every one of his movies are successes?

Chicago Man Arrested for Allegedly Targeting Obama With HIV-Infected Blood

Apparently, not everyone is a fan of the new president.
Not cool.

This is the third attempt (at an attempt) to do President Obama harm. First there were those white supremecist goofballs, then, as this story pints out, "in the weeks leading up to Obama's inauguration, Saad Hussein, an Ethiopian refugee in his late 20s, sent an envelope addressed to "Barack Obama" to offices of the Illinois government in Springfield, Ill., according to court documents." Now this.

Well, he is the president, now. It happens to all of them eventually, no matter how "popular" and how "loved" we may think they are by everybody. But, two already? Like I said, the Secret Service are going to have their hands full with this one.

Durbin's New Fairness Doctrine

via NewsBusters.com

By Seton Motley

Law may allow preemptive, premature rescission of broadcast licenses

Yesterday by a whopping 87-11 vote, the Senate added as a rider to the passed DC voting rights bill the Broadcaster Freedom Act (BFA). The BFA, if also passed by the House and signed by the President, would kill once and for all the Censorship Doctrine -- also mis-known as the "Fairness" Doctrine.

Much Conservative celebration ensued. However, the revelry is misplaced and premature. It means only that the Left means to destroy Conservative and Christian talk radio by other means.

Because another rider was added via a party-line 57-41 vote. Written by Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin, S.160's Purpose is "To encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership, and to ensure that the public airwaves are used in the public interest."

Hello, new "Fairness" Doctrine - the regulatory enforcement of "diversity" of radio station ownership, and localism as defined by the "public interest." Liberal censors are now travelling alternative routes to reach their original destination - silencing political speech on the airwaves.
This is an alternative assault on the radio industry to affect the Left’s desired ideological outcome.

One tremendous problem with this amendment, with the Censorship Doctrine itself and in fact with virtually every aspect of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)'s broadcast licensing requirements is that they are all completely nebulous. President Barack Obama's FCC can interpret these regulations in any direction it wishes, which more than likely bodes poorly for free speech on the radio.

And the worst part of the Durbin Amendment is the possibility that Obama's FCC may now be empowered to prematurely pull the broadcast licenses of radio stations they deem as failing to meet these new "Fairness" Doctrine-esque guidelines. Several lawyers who do this for a living see this rider's wording as amorphous enough to allow for this interpretation.

This would be absolutely devastating to talk radio. Stations currently carrying Conservative and Christian talk would be perpetually under the FCC gun - never knowing when the regulatory hammer would fall and crush their businesses. They would feel tremendous pressure to change formats so as to be able to stay on the air.
And no one would be able to justify the enormous expense of getting into talk radio if their lifeline - their broadcast license - could be pulled capriciously at any time.

These licenses would then be awarded to more "diverse" owners who show a greater desire in meeting the Obama FCC's definition of the "local" and "public interest." You know, ACORN activists and MoveOn.org hosts who couldn't cut the mustard on National Public or Pacifica Radio.

This is an alternative assault on the radio industry to affect the Left's desired ideological outcome. By making it untenable for stations to conduct the business of talk radio, the liberal censors will succeed in again silencing political speech on the airwaves - just as if the "Fairness" Doctrine itself were reinstated. Thus is the new "Fairness" Doctrine born.
In the real world, the public interest is best served by what the public is interested in. Conservative and Christian talk radio survives and thrives because people listen, and Liberal talk fails because they don't.

But none of this matters in this brave new "diverse" world. Liberals never liked the free market with it's equality of opportunity. They have always preferred an equality of outcome - where shows that have listeners are forced to share the airwaves with those that don't.
The Durbin Amendment solves the Left's "Fairness" Doctrine dilemma. It gets them what they want - radio free of Conservative and Christian talk - without the political baggage of carrying the "Fairness" Doctrine name.
For them, a rose by any other name still smells as sweet if it serves to silence the opposition.

Words ‘Ring Hollow’ in Obama’s Error Filled Speech

Calvin Woodward and Jim Kuhnhenn fact checked President Obama’s non-State of the Union speech and found the speech so error filled that Obama’s words “ring hollow.”

Posted By Dan Spencer

I have already said I did not care for Obama’s the government will do every thing speech. Another reason the Obama speech failed to impress me were the many misrepresentations Obama made as he tried to sell his anti-Reagan bigger government vision.
These are just the examples the two Associated Press writers highlighted:
Obama’s Housing Bailout
OBAMA ASSERTION: “We have launched a housing plan that will help responsiblefamilies facing the threat of foreclosure lower their monthly paymentsand refinance their mortgages. It’s a plan that won’t help speculatorsor that neighbor down the street who bought a house he could never hopeto afford, but it will help millions of Americans who are strugglingwith declining home values.”
THE FACTS: If the administration has come up with a way to ensure moneyonly goes to those who got in honest trouble, it hasn’t said so.
Defending the program Tuesday at a Senate hearing, Federal ReserveChairman Ben Bernanke said it’s important to save those who made badcalls, for the greater good. He likened it to calling the firedepartment to put out a blaze caused by someone smoking in bed.
“I think the smart way to deal with a situation like that is to put outthe fire, save him from his own consequences of his own action butthen, going forward, enact penalties and set tougher rules aboutsmoking in bed.”
Similarly, the head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. suggestedthis month it’s not likely aid will be denied to all homeowners whooverstated their income or assets to get a mortgage they couldn’tafford.
“I think it’s just simply impractical to try to do a forensic analysisof each and every one of these delinquent loans,” Sheila Bair toldNational Public Radio.
We know Obama’s housing bailout hit a raw nerve.
Rick Santelli’s now infamous rant inspired a tea party movement that extended all the way to Obam’a Chicago base.Invention of the Automobile
OBAMA ASSERTION: “And I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.”
THE FACTS: Depends what your definition of automobiles, is. Accordingto the Library of Congress, the inventor of the first true automobilewas probably Germany’s Karl Benz, who created the first auto powered byan internal combustion gasoline engine, in 1885 or 1886. In the U.S.,Charles Duryea tested what library researchers called the firstsuccessful gas-powered car in 1893. Nobody disputes that Henry Fordcreated the first assembly line that made cars affordable.
The
Washington Times also called Obama to task for this error and uses the Library of Congress to show the President misspoke when he credited the U.S. with the invention of the automobile.
Oil Imports
OBAMA ASSERTION: “We have known for decades that our survival depends on findingnew sources of energy. Yet we import more oil today than ever before.”
THE FACTS: Oil imports peaked in 2005 at just over 5 billion barrels, and have been declining slightly since. The figure in 2007 was 4.9billion barrels, or about 58 percent of total consumption. The nationis on pace this year to import 4.7 billion barrels, and governmentprojections are for imports to hold steady or decrease a bit over thenext two decades.
Fiscal Responsibility
OBAMA ASSERTION: “We have already identified $2 trillion in savings over the next decade.”
THE FACTS: Although 10-year projections are common in government, theydon’t mean much. And at times, they are a way for a president to passon the most painful steps to his successor, by putting off big taxincreases or spending cuts until someone else is in the White House.
Obama only has a real say on spending during the four years of histerm. He may not be president after that and he certainly won’t be 10years from now.
This may be Obama’s most galling misrepresentation. He continues to say one thing while doing another. He
calls for fiscal responsibility while encouraging outrageously massive deficit spending. As for that deficit Obama likes to say he inherited, nearly one-fourth of the national debt was created since the Democrats took control of Congress just two years ago.

Deregulation
OBAMA ASSERTION: “Regulations were gutted for the sake of a quick profit at theexpense of a healthy market. People bought homes they knew theycouldn’t afford from banks and lenders who pushed those bad loansanyway. And all the while, critical debates and difficult decisionswere put off for some other time on some other day.”
THE FACTS: This may be so, but it isn’t only Republicans who pushed forderegulation of the financial industries. The Clinton administrationchampioned an easing of banking regulations, including legislation thatended the barrier between regular banks and Wall Street banks. That ledto a deregulation that kept regular banks under tight federalregulation but extended lax regulation of Wall Street banks. ClintonTreasury Secretary Robert Rubin, later an economic adviser to candidateObama, was in the forefront in pushing for this deregulation.
There is plenty of blame to go around here, including
Obama and ACORN.
Proposed Budget
OBAMA ASSERTION: “In this budget, we will end education programs that don’t work and end direct payments to large agribusinesses that don’t need them. We’ll eliminate the no-bid contracts that have wasted billions in Iraq, and reform our defense budget so that we’re not paying for Cold War-era weapons systems we don’t use. We will root out the waste, fraud and abuse in our Medicare program that doesn’t make our seniors any healthier, and we will restore a sense of fairness and balance to our tax code by finally ending the tax breaks for corporations that ship our jobs overseas.”
THE FACTS: First, his budget does not accomplish any of that. It only proposes those steps. That’s all a president can do, because control over spending rests with Congress. Obama’s proposals here are a wish list and some items, including corporate tax increases and cuts in agricultural aid, will be a tough sale in Congress.
Second, waste, fraud and abuse are routinely targeted by presidents who later find that the savings realized seldom amount to significant sums. Programs that a president might consider wasteful have staunch defenders in Congress who have fought off similar efforts in the past.
Doubling Renewable Energy
OBAMA ASSERTION: “Thanks to our recovery plan, we will double this nation’s supply of renewable energy in the next three years.”
THE FACTS: While the president’s stimulus package includes billions in aid for renewable energy and conservation, his goal is unlikely to be achieved through the recovery plan alone.
In 2007, the U.S. produced 8.4 percent of its electricity from renewable sources, including hydroelectric dams, solar panels and windmills. Under the status quo, the Energy Department says, it will take more than two decades to boost that figure to 12.5 percent.
If Obama is to achieve his much more ambitious goal, Congress would need to mandate it. That is the thrust of an energy bill that is expected to be introduced in coming weeks.
Jobs
OBAMA ASSERTION: “Over the next two years, this plan will save or create 3.5 million jobs.”
THE FACTS: This is a recurrent Obama formulation. But job creation projections are uncertain even in stable times, and some of the economists relied on by Obama in making his forecast acknowledge a great deal of uncertainty in their numbers.
The president’s own economists, in a report prepared last month, stated, “It should be understood that all of the estimates presented in this memo are subject to significant margins of error.”
Beyond that, it’s unlikely the nation will ever know how many jobs are saved as a result of the stimulus. While it’s clear when jobs are abolished, there’s no economic gauge that tracks job preservation. The estimates are based on economic assumptions of how many jobs would be lost without the stimulus.
I have written a good deal about
Obama’s quest for a job goal he can believe in. He has finally settled on the “save or create 3.5 million jobs” over the next two years. Unfortunately it is little more than a stroke of political genius expediency because it begs the question of how to measure jobs beingsaved.
All things considered this was not a very good performance for a president widely perceived as a truly great orator.

Bravo gentlemen.

Cradle to the Grave Spending

The President really should have been beating his chest, he was so proud of his huge government, huge-spending plan to socialize America. Right now he's telling you exactly how (well not exactly how, cause he and the Congress will slip crap into bills to legalize them) he's going to "change" the country in the image of the far-left's socialistic/communistic shangra-la. We can't say we didn't see this coming. But nobody stood up to stop him. People tried they will say, but ultimately they were discredited in the eyes of the public and shunned. Funny, now that he's actually in the White House, he's talking an awful lot about specifics.

He sure did point the finger at the Republican side of the chamber though, didn't he? That and his shot at Rush Limbaugh. And was it just me, but was there something different about the way Biden and Pelosi were shot last night. Was it the camera angle? Because they seemed to be at, shall I say a more predominant, or more prevalent presence. Nancy Pelosi seemed to be in your face. Like she and the President are at the same level of prominence, the same level of importance. Even more than Biden. And once again, her blinking...I couldn't look away.
I think Bill Clinton may have had his message sink in because the President seemed to do away with the total "doom and gloom" attitude.

Why am I picturing Al Gore and his infamous "HE PRAYED ON OUR FEARS!" freak-out?

She sure seemed a lot more smug than usual, smirk and all, instead of that sower-puss she wore when Bush was speaking.
The Dem side of the chamber clearly loved taking every little word Obama used to let the people know that he isn't to blame for any of this, and that the Republicans are the ones who should play nice, and that they are the only ones at fault-for everything, then howl in compliance and a false sense of righteousness every time the President gave them an opportunity. Let's hear it for the power.

But regardless, what did you expect from a man who did nothing before he became an Illinois State senator, never made a decision (other than not to make a decision) has no experience, yet was anointed President of the United States. But, even before all of that he felt obligated to write two memoirs, with one having the word audacity in the title. Indeed.

This speech, in the eyes of the Democrats, was everything all the commentators (even the ones saying "My God" into an open mic on MSNBC before Bobby Jindal's republican response) said it was. It seemed to be sold as an attempt (in these oh, so hard times) to be "thrilling," "inspiring," "exhilarating," "uplifting," "life-changing," and all the rest of the swooning words that I've heard after the speech. From every loony liberal from Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews to Rachael Maddow and Joy Behar (along with every far-gone celebrity in Hollyweird)

But what happens when these union-only jobs end? What happens to all these short-term jobs like fixing highways, building bridges and parks end? O.k, so the union members (thus the union) made some money. What then? Where, all of a sudden, do these 3.5 million (so called) jobs go?
And I won't even go into the Michael Moore school of false Cuba-like medicine that the "Rules for Radicals" scholar that is the President, is a follower and imposer of.

And for the love of Peter, I still heard a lot of chastising of the Republicans for not blindly playing along, a whole lot of talk of spending, claiming it was the answer and everything will be fine because of it. But still, where is the stimulation? Seriously? He made it sound like all those billions is going to help, but he's assuming all the money given to the states governors is going to be spent wisely, if not criminally.
All that comforting rhetoric won't change the fact that this banking on stimulating the economy from "the bottom up," is probably not going to be as effective as they might have wished.

But, I tell ya, he sure seemed nice and oh, was he so, so sincere. As the San Francisco Chronicle said, he was "sober and sunny." Aww.

Bobby Jindal's Response

For the official opposition's response, the RNC chose Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal to rebuke the President's speech to Congress:

Not to bad, but not too good, either. Not very inspiring, though. He's right, just not very Reagan-esque. MSNBC's Rachael Maddow said that invoking Hurricane Katrina as analogy of Republican ways of moving forward left her speechless. Somehow I doubt that, but she was obviously in her self-righteous, annoying way, thinking Jindal was speaking of the immediate aftermath of he disaster. I do believe Maddow is a twit. Jindal was clearly referring to how the infrastructure of the city and state was surprisingly quick, actually, put forth back into the state of the living.

Did you notice that A Mess NBC cut that little "Oh God," love-tap out. Why? Nobody will say anything about it.

Oh wait, not on this version. A great column that follows as well. H/T to Inside Cable News.

UPDATE: It was Matthews. And his excuse was...?
Oh, I see. Jindal's set was to blame. O.k. Barack Obama gives his acceptance speech on a stage that's supposed to represent some Greek pantolathon, but Bobby Jindal can't make a speech in the foyer of the Louisiana Governor's mansion without Matthews making some stupid comment. I swear, this guy never ceases to be an unprofessional goof.

And then there's this: Is Matthews a closet racist? He would be labled as much if he was someone else and made this comment. But he's a raging liberal, so...

Al Gore Retracts False Claim in 'An Inconvenient Truth'

Finally, the Goracle has had someone remove, not correct, information from his "An Inconvenient Truth" power-point slide-show/speaking engagements. No apology from Gore, no admission that his little movie and lectures just aren't that fact-based.

The information that Gore used prematurely and without conclusions, from the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED.)

The New York Times explains:

"The graph, which was added to his talk last year, came just after a sequence of images of people from Iowa to South Australia struggling with drought, wildfire, flooding and other weather-related calamities. Mr. Gore described the pattern as a manifestation of human-driven climate change. "This is creating weather-related disasters that are completely unprecedented," he said. (The preceding link is to a video clip of that portion of the talk; go to 7th minute.)

"Now Mr. Gore is dropping the graph, his office said today. Here's why.

"Two days after the talk, Mr. Gore was sharply criticized for using the data to make a point about global warming by Roger A. Pielke, Jr., a political scientist focused on disaster trends and climate policy at the University of Colorado. Mr. Pielke noted that the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters stressed in reports that a host of factors unrelated to climate caused the enormous rise in reported disasters."

The Financial Times last month that claimed that there are significantly more jobs to be found in the wind-energy industry than in the coal industry.

A related article claimed that there were 85,000 jobs in wind and just 81,000 in coal. But according to The Christian Science Monitor:

"...it's a bogus comparison. According to the wind energy report, those 85,000 jobs in wind power are as "varied as turbine component manufacturing, construction and installation of wind turbines, wind turbine operations and maintenance, legal and marketing services, and more." The 81,000 coal jobs counted by the Department of Energy are only miners. Their figure excludes those who haul the coal around the country, as well as those who work in coal power plants."

The Japanese are not on Team Gore either...

Is This Man Crazy or Just Vigilant?

I don't know if this guy, Keyes just knows something and is being made the fool, or is he just completely paranoid and doing it to himself?

I almost hate to say it, but I myself am not completely convinced that Barack Obama is a natural-born citizen. I mean I know this guy is loopy, but what if it turns out he's right? I mean, imagine the fallout.

I know I'm going to regret this, thinking like one of those conspiracy freaks, but why won't Obama's people just release his birth certificate? Why? That document his presidential campaign online is a certificate of live birth, not a certificate of natural-born residence of birth. There is a difference.

Intolerance at the Oscars

By Jay Rubin

While Slumdog Millionaire may have won best picture last night at the Academy Awards, the award for most drama goes to the movie Milk. It's no surprise that the film chronicling the rise of San Francisco politician Harvey Milk was honored by Hollywood this evening. Not only was it an engaging political drama, but Hollywood holds a strong political stake in advancing the gay agenda.

Sean Penn, the righteous fighting liberal, followed the example of previous leftist award winners by making a preachy acceptance speech after winning Best Actor, this time chastising those who voted Yes on California's recent Proposition 8. That proposition, intended to maintain the traditional view of marriage, was described by Penn as "the marriage ban."

Such rhetoric, while securing Penn's prominence as a darling of Castro Street, is likely to do more harm than good for the gay and lesbian community and hinder not enhance future movie-ticket sales for Milk.

As Penn should well know, waving a condescending finger at one's political opponents is not an effective way of winning friends and influencing people. Shaming people, chiding them, promising that their grandchildren will one day not respect them, are good ways to guarantee that those who don't appreciate your views will only feel more certain of their own opposing convictions.

It's especially shameful that Penn, presumably straight, should take the lead in advancing the cause of gays and lesbians and, inadvertently, despite his best intentions, set back their movement. If anything, Penn only made matters worse.

Equally shameful, and yet more tragic, is how Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, when accepting his award for Best Original Screenplay, marred his emotional plea for understanding of the gay and lesbian struggle. Black, choked up as he was, seemed determined to stress that, prior to moving to California as a boy, his family had lived in a small Mormon town in Texas. Mormon, of course, being code for intolerant.

It's well-documented that the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had contributed quite generously to last year's Yes on 8 effort. Their political success, however, has now made them the scapegoat of bullying activists intent on advancing the gay agenda -- despite the results of our electoral process. Like homophobic cowboys terrorizing a gay Matthew Shepard a decade ago in Wyoming, today's gay activists, like many on the left, find comfort in disdaining the minority Mormon population.

Mormons have the right to their own religious beliefs just as gays and lesbians have the right to their own personal practices. Today's Mormonophobia is no more excusable than yesterday's homophobia.

Obviously, Dustin Lance Black, though raised in a Mormon town, has done quite well for himself, regardless of whatever challenges he may have faced. But everyone who eventually succeeds faces challenges, especially in such a diverse country as ours, one populated with so many competing ideologies.

Those on the far left, like their far right nemeses, tend to tolerate everything with which they approve. They take pride in their tolerance, and that pride, unfortunately, and all too often, blinds them of their own intolerance.

Sean Penn and Dustin Lance Black missed a terrific opportunity tonight to advance the cause they both hold dear. Rather than invite their political opponents into their hearts, rather than reach out and invite their foes to see the film both had been honored for creating, they excluded their opponents, insulted their foes, and, exposing their own arrogance, made their own prejudices clear for all to see.

Is that why Harvey Milk died?

Congressional Democratrs Go jet Setting On Your Dime

With all their obfuscating about how Americans are suffering, and their fraudulent kvetching to airline and automobile bigwigs, they then get on a $10,000 an hour military jet and fly to Italy, on the backs of the taxpayers.

The nerve. Are you people getting this stuff, yet?

A Letter of Patriotism from a "70-Year-Old-Nun"

I don't know if this is actually from a nun, but it it true to it's words:

THIS is Freedom!!
I think everyone on this planet needs to read this. This was sent by a 78-year-old former nun. The thoughts are pure and we all understand the point. She writes:There are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some native Americans, need to understand. First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam. We speak English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn our language!"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some off the wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan - it is our national motto. It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol and it is printed on our currency. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation and this is clearly documented throughout our history. If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in times of crisis. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture and we are proud to have Him.We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day. We have parades, picnics, and barbecues where we proudly wave our flag.As an American, I have the right to wave my flag, sing my national anthem, quote my national motto, and cite my pledge whenever and wherever I choose. If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. The American culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. Like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom: THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!Another thing: To those who do complain about the usage of words like 'God' and 'American' and speaking the language of our great nation, try going to another country and speak against what you don't like. You will more than likely end up jailed or even killed. In America, you take your right to complain for granted. The more patriotism that is removed from where our children are taught, the less our children will learn about what it is to be an American and our nation's spirit will slowly be killed. Keep patriotism alive! If you agree, pass this onto other Americans!!

And a little message, from all people, Robin Williams. Although I give Williams credit for supporting the troops, I don't know if I can credit this list to him, either. He is a raving liberal.

Robin Williams for President 2004
Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan...what we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.
Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)
I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan:
The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those 'good ole boys.' We will never "interfere" again.
We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the fence.
All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.
All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.
No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.
The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)
If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.
There now, ain't that a winner of a plan? "The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?"

Obama Has No Plans to Nationalize Banks

"This administration continues to strongly believe that a privately held banking system is the correct way to go, ensuring that they are regulated sufficiently by this government," so says White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs.

Story here by the AP's Ben Feller, via Breitbart.com

Hannity's History

An interesting look at what President Barack Obama is banking his future on. A sequel to the not-so-successful New Deal. No long-term jobs, but some long-term extended government.

I thought it would be good for a lark.

Kerry Turns Over Hamas Letter to U.S. Consulate

Founder of Al Qaeda Attacks bin Laden

Never, would I thought that I'd see this. Good for him. Unless it's a al Qaeda ploy of some sort. That's not conspiracy thinking. Remember, these "people" are crazy, not stupid.
Is this guy dead or what?

But if this guy is on the level, this could spell some trouble for bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri. The reason being, if this guy, al-Sharif, aka Dr. Fadl, can persuade a couple hundred or even thousands, al Qaeda may be even in more trouble than it is. President Bush and American forces, and her allies did an outstanding job of disrupting the network, but this may be even more useful.

Just in case any of you Bush-haters out there didn't catch it,

"Every drop of blood that was shed or is being shed in Afghanistan and Iraq is the responsibility of bin Laden and Zawahiri and their followers." - Dr Fadl.

Canada Welcomes Obama

In his first foreign trip as President, Barack Obama has landed in Ottawa, Canada to discuss with Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, methods to combat pollution and explore renewed energy conservation, among other things.

"I love this country,"President Obama said after close-door meetings with Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. They discussed mostly about border security, discussing, "how we can use some of our stimulus and infrastructure spending that is already being planned around potentially easing some of these bottlenecks in our border." They also discussed climate change initatives, they told the press later and their joint-press conference.

Some fans showed up.

A more interesting side to this is, what type of relationship are these two men going to have?

Probably Not in the Best of Tastes

I would like to think the cartoonist was making reference to all the "monkies" in Congress.

UPDATE: Joy Behar went apesh*t.
Oops. Sorry.
H/T to Ms. Underestimated

If you followed the page all the way to the comment hi-lited, you've read this, for those that didn't...

I seem to recall a movie or a play depicting the assassination of Pres. George W. Bush.

I seem to recall Air America’s idiot Randi Rhodes doing a radio ditty about shooting Pres. Bush.

I seem to recall T-shirts with Pres. Bush’s face in front of gun crosshairs

I seem to recall various politicians and celebrities calling for executions of Pres Bush and VP Cheney.

But I am certain, Joy, Bush pardoned all those poor political prisoners before leaving office …

On second thought … I demand those cops in Conn. that gunned down that chimp be arressted and put on trial for killing Obama.

My GOD! These women aren’t even wise enough to be delusional bag ladies.

Priceless.

A Crack in the Most Basics of Bases?

Let's be honest. President Obama got to where he is by looking good, smiling a lot (I swear sometimes I literally see the President turn into Jimmy Carter when he smiles in a middle of a sentence in response to another's comment) and just using his God-given talent to sway the masses with his speech. He charmed and fooled enough people that are the age-of-majority, thus securing the votes to win, but more than that, he captured (with the help and indoctrination of the left-wing media) the imagination and trust of the nation's youth and that has put him in the minds and on the lips of children everywhere.

Not to say that's a good thing. He may portray the polished image of this generation's JFK (to which this generation know nothing of Kennedy's policies and what, if anything, did they accomplish) and Obama would like to be seen as anyone that has, what he thinks, is a positive and successful. But not just any successful president, oh no, Obama must me seen as history's greatest. And not just one, or even two, but all of them. How many times have I heard him likened to Lincoln-which Obama did nothing to minimalize, taking the Lincoln train ride to Washington and all that-Kennedy, Roosevelt and even...Ronald Reagan?

Of course, how could we forget Jesus Christ. Really, how can we, especially when it's still going on now?
The President seems to have forgotten how two of these Presidents met their end. If I were him, I wouldn't equate myself to much to Lincoln or Kennedy. I certainly wouldn't re-enact their historical visits, movements and appearances. Do I have to mention the fire your playing with in being compared to the Son of God?

There were songs written about him, sung by children, much like a certain North Korean leader. There is a constant barrage by their teachers and media that this man is a savior of some sort. He is here to save the economy, the environment, the animals, the sick, the poor, the old and the young.

But that brings me to my very, very, belabored point. It is the youth that he is ultimately dependent on. Most high school students now will be eligible to vote in 2012. It is in this article, that I believe shows that before most kids get in the clutches of the indoctrination university system, they do pay attention and want to ask questions before that individual intuition is squashed in them. THE LEADER MUST NOT BE QUESTIONED! WE LOVE THE LEADER. WE LOVE THE LEADER.

I predict we'll be seeing more of these stories. Not on the networks, mind you, but they'll leak out. Obama may be starting to lose his fundamental base already.
Over saturation?

Corruption of Democrats "Not a Big Deal"

With all the talk and obfuscating about the "culture of corruption" in the Republican party, you'd figure there might be a bit of reporting going on, if only in the name of some twisted irony, about the obvious and unreported corruption of the Democrats overall and especially in the birthplace of the political career of the current President of the United States.

Does the MSM and Dems really think people aren't paying attention? Do they really think they're going to hang on to their control of Congress and continue to try and project their ethical short-comings on to the republicans en masse til 2010 with no backlash? The press is certainly doing their part in not identifying party affiliation of all these recent, crooked Demcrats in the news these days. It's amazing these things are even being reported at all. Well, a blurb in most papers and a 20 second sound-byte in most newscasts doesn't really count as "being reported," now does it?

So all these lists (most of which, are not even factually based, when it comes to the facts of these cases) I see of corrupt Republicans on other blogs, are really, really starting to pale in comparison to these frauds with the usually press-protected (D) after their names.

Obama Does Not Support "Fairness Doctrine"

Or so he says. Remember, I told you he doesn't have to be directly involved for it to happen. He's able to downplay it, or even condemn it, it doesn't matter. He just uses his man on the FCC (this guy)and POOF! No more conservative talk-radio. So he certainly isn't going to publicly be in favor of it, and going a step further saying he is definitely against it, buys him "moderate" points.

He won't stop Dianne Feinstein, Barbra Boxer, Debbie Stabenow (who has a big conflict of interest with see that her husband has been an executive at several liberal radio talk groups, including the failed Air America) Dennis Kusinisch, Chuck Schumer and the like. They'll just slip it into some other bill, after learning they can do it with the stimulus bill.

Oh, That's What happened to This Guy

In case you were wondering about the "Shoe-Throwing-Iraqi-Journalist-Dude," he was in court last Thursday. he doesn't appear to be sorry. Ah, well. Whattya gonna do?

Palin Owes Back Taxes

All right. Let me and her have it, I guess. But only if you really read the article and can understand the differences in premise in this story and those of Obama's team. What? you're going to compare her to them, now? Pleeez.

No "Stimulus" for Hurricane Katrina Leftover Damage-Dems, MSM Silent

So after all their kvetching and whining about how President Bush "failed" the people of New Orleans and Louisiana after the onslaught of Hurricane Katrina, and how (according to that punk, Kanye West) "George Bush hates black people," the Democrats in Congress and President Obama himself have done nothing for them.

All this money ($787 billion worth) with all the pork therein enclosed in this "emergency plan," and not one nickel set aside for Hurricane Katrina relief. And don't think they're finished rebuilding there yet. That's right. They're still re-building the hardest hit regions of Louisiana, and President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress didn't bother to add anything to this "stimulus" fiasco for the ongoing victims of the worst natural disaster in U.S. history.

Where's the MSM on this one? Where's the outrage? Where's the ACLU, the NAACP?

Geez, at least Bush did something.

I thought the Messiah was supposed to heal the blind.

D'OH! What Does She Do Now?

House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has been smacked down by Pope Benedict XVI on her views about abortion. The Pope told her that Catholic politicians are to fight for the lives of the unborn-at all levels of pregnancy. What's a pro-abortion lefty to do?

Probably convert to Islam. You know that's the values she supports anyway.

Holder: America is a "Nation of Cowards" on Race

Whoa. I know where Holder is coming from, think. Nobody has the balls to publicly talk about race relations. Because when they do, they get chastised as racists, or "uncle toms," such as Bill Cosby. But, dude.

What is Going On?

President Obama is really on the move now. First he slipped in some socialistic policy into his "Stimulus" bill that he signed into law, now he's already more than half-way there before he's right in the back pocket of Hugo Chavez and Cuba's 40-plus-year sanctions being lifted.

I can't believe there are Republicans embracing this so quickly. You know there have been a lot of action by too many so-called republicans lately that makes me wonder if there shouldn't be a real house-cleaning by new RNC Chairman, Michael Steele. Perhaps a review of personnel, and if they really know what it means to have conservative principles and to fight for them and not placate.

There is truly a socialistic shift happening. The "change" has come.
He works fast, this Obama kid.

Yeah, What About Scooter?

In light of the release of wrongly-jailed border guards, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, I was thinking-What didn't President Bush pardon Scooter Libby on his last day in office when he commuted the sentences of these two men? Come on, let's be honest; Scooter didn't really commit any crime now did he? At least not by democrat standards. Yet, they were the ones that who screamed the loudest for his head. Actually, it was for Carl Rove's head, but they couldn't get him, so the left-wing nutbags were a little ornary.

I gotta agree with Darth Vader on this one.

Oh, for the Love of...

Again, Didn't Obama Say he Was Going to End This?

Apparently not.

I know what you're thinking. But Obama only said he would continue Bush's foreign policy (which is what he's doing-deal with it) in so many words, during the general election. This guy was all about pulling the troops out during the primaries. And don't even try me with this 16-month withdrawal plan.

Wrongly Jailed Border Guards Released

When President Bush, in his last act of clemency, commuted the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, I for one shook my head and wondered, "what took so long."

On Jan. 19, the former president finally decided to secure the release of two men that were protecting the border and shouldn't have been in jail in the first place. They shot a fleeing, known to be armed and dangerous drug-dealer in the butt. Oh, Golly. Call the National Guard (which is who they should have on the border these days anyway) what a crime. yeah, yeah, they covered it up; but didn't O.J. get away with worse?

They served two years of a 10-year sentence. They were assaulted and brutalized by other prisoners multiple times. Why they
weren't in protective custody, I'll never know. Like I said, why they were in there in the first place?

Well today they were released after the the commutation officially took affect.

Obama Signs "Stimulus" Bill

President Obama today signed into law his 780 billion dollar spending bill that was designed to stimulate the economy and create or save upwards to 4 million jobs. Many in the mainstream (or, who proponents of the bill say are mainstream-like the left-wing press) say this bill will save the American economy and give the president the angelic-like credit he so richly deserves. Yet other, just as prominent, yet not as quoted economists say that this stimulus package will do nothing to stimulate anything.

Just in case you missed it in the story...

Nobody's read the thing. The Democrats slipped in the beginning of their little "Daschle Doctrine," wherein they will make their Marxist changes to Americana-especially health care-little by little.

I guess using a "national emergency" plan to slip in your favorite pork items saying "it's for the good of the country," is o.k. now. Patriot Act anyone?

Some different takes by other sources. Interesting reactions. Expected, but interesting:

MSNBC
ABC
The New York Times (with Joe Biden looking like a proud poppa)
U.S. News & World Report
Denver Post (again with Biden)
Minneapolis Star Tribune
And from the Washington Post, an interview with the President about his thoughts on continuing to reach across the isle.

No going back now.

Oh Great

Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez has won a nationally-held referendum, giving him a political victory that will keep him in office until he is elected out. No term limit. Wonderful.

Ah, another life-time adversary for the United States. Just when Fidel Castro seemed to be put out to pastier, this creep secures his hold on the South-American country to make things worse for all Americans, I'm sure. Well, not for President Obama and his Hollywood sheep, I'm really sure. Oh, this is just the beginning. Wait until he is actually able to manipulate his people enough to change Venezuela's constitution permanently and is able to do away with elections altogether.

Doesn't the fact that this man's heroes are Castro and Che Guevara resonate with anyone? Chavez has even been qoted as saying that the Cuban dictator is his "political father." Does the Cuban Missle Crisis ring a bell? How about those Russian warships docking in Venezuelan harbors nowadays? No? No worries? Nothing? No thoughts to his closening ties with Vladimir Putin and Mahmoud Ahmadinewhackjob?
Man, I wish I could sleep as sound as that.

Good times.

UPDATE:

He's already thinking about his next move...

Finally, For the Rest of Us

A new conservative comic strip, “The Gentleman from Lickskillet,” was launched last month. You can see a new edition, by Allen and Tuma, posted each weekday on the ConservativeHQ Web site.
Dubbed “Doonesbury for the political right,” it's plugged as “a comic strip for everyone who can't help but laugh at the politicians in Washington.”

Let's hope it lasts longer than "The Half-Hour News Hour."

Owner of Muslim Relations TV Network Beheads Wife, Media Mum

So what else is new? A prominent American muslim beheads his wife in the tradition of the "religion of peace" and the MSM says nothing. "Connecting People Through Understanding," is the staions motto. It's mission statement?
"Bridges TV aims to foster a greater understanding among many cultures and diverse populations.Through our high-quality, informative, 24x7 programming in English; we seek to become a unifying force that can help people understand our diverse world through education and entertainment."

Yeah, right. I try and I try to understand this religion's philosophy. I really do try and defend the "moderates" of Islam. I personally know some really nice, hard-working, law-abiding, family-oriented people of the Islamic faith and am, most times, adament in defending them. But when this type of thing keeps happening more and more, it's gets kind of tough to do so. I guess the blood-letting of Christian crusaders can only be used for so long, huh?

But, where's the ACLU? Where's CAIR and NOW to condemn this? What do you think the media's reaction of this would be if this were a Christian man killing his wife or children? What if it were yet another pedophile priest story? You'd be hearing about that less than an hour after it was posted online or reported on the networks for days and weeks. More fodder for Christian and Jew haters...like Jimmy Carter.

But alas, the MSM doesn't feel that reporting on yet more abuses of Muslim males on their spouses or children doesn't warrant a news item, lest we think that the role of Islam on its more fanitical (or is that just "loyal") followers could be construed as violent and intolerent. We can't have that now, can we?

As history shows, only non-Muslims (especially Christians) are the intolerent, violent, fanatical people of the world. Didn't you know that?

Although it would probably be a good gig, I don't know how reporters at NewsBusters can continually stomach the obvious bias of the left-wing media without throwing up thier arms and screaming in frustration.

The Democrats Idea of an Amnesty Bill

In their attempt to gain eternal votes from illegal immigrants, Congressional Democrats have put forth, as House minority leader called it, "a piece of sh*t!" Boy, is that ever an understatement. Check out this incredible fiasco:

Some of this proposed bills disgusting provisions...

-Legal status in the U.S. after 24 hours, even without a complete background check.
-Taxpayers are going to pay for all the lawyers for these people (including criminals)
-Temporary visas (that can be renewed indefinitely)
-Complete and unquestioned amnesty for gang members. All these "law-abiding" (undocumented) citizens have to do is claim that they don't want to be gang members anymore.
-Taxpayers will help Mexicans stay in Mexico (you'll be funding their education, supplying their food (and I assume their drugs and alcohol)
-No illegal shall have to pay any back taxes-NONE!
-All illegals will have health care coverage.
-There are absolutely no provisions mentioning border security. No fence, no visa limits, limited background checks, it's all about amnesty!

Oh, did I mention that any applicant will be fast-tracked ahead of anyone that has been waiting to become a legal citizen? Yeah, that's in there, too.

Say goodbye to your sovereignty, America! You can thank the Dems for this wonderful piece of trash.

Palestinians Selling ‘Tunnel Licenses’ for Smuggling

Those pesky "Palestinians" are at it again. This time their "peace processes" are making a profit.

From NewsMax:

Despite recent Israeli efforts to destroy the smuggling tunnels in the Gaza Strip, the tunnel “industry” is still flourishing on the Egyptian-Gaza border.

That’s what American-born journalist Sarah A. Topol found during a recent trip to the border.

Writing in The New Republic, she describes dozens of white tents, 10 feet apart and 70 yards from the border, each concealing the entrance to a smuggling tunnel.

Some tunnels descend 40 feet underground and run more than 650 feet under the border before opening on the Egyptian side.

A Palestinian translator told Topol that the tunnel industry is not only profitable, but regulated. Palestinians must apply for a tunnel license at the Rafah Municipal Council. The licenses cost $6,000, plus an additional fee of $2,500 for electricity, Topol discloses in The New Republic.

Asked if Hamas has made any attempt to close the tunnels, the translator said: “No, of course,” with the exception of tunnels used in smuggling cocaine.

“Egyptians support the tunnels too,” he added.

One smuggler told Topol and accompanying journalists that the Egyptians get a cut of the profits and that he “brings in everything, from toys and food to cooking oil,” Topol writes.

“Everything except weapons, he quickly corrects himself.”

12-Year-Old Speaks Out on the Issue of Abortion

Kids are too young to understand, huh? Not this one. HT to Amy Proctor

Articulate, concise and most of all, absolutely correct. Like the headline on Ms. Proctor's site states, understanding abortion isn't above this 12-year-old's pay grade.

Gregg is Out

So Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire; former governor and current senior Senator of NH, has had a change of heart and went with his morals and convictions on deciding that he couldn't in good faith be a part of the Obama administration, withdrawing his name as a candidate for Commerce Secretary. His reasoning, other than not wanting to be a part of a socialist dictatorship, was apparently "irresolvable conflicts" with Obama's policies, specifically the $790 billion economic stimulus bill and the president moving the 2010 census from the Commerce to the White House (shred the constitution, anyone? Oh wait, that's o.k. now)

As for who approached who? Not that it matters all that much, but I do believe I'll take Gregg's word over Obama's. Call me crazy.

This is a man who made his decision based on his principles, good or bad. Of course certain Democrats are now chastising him for it. After all, going with principles is something very foreign to Democrats.

So, when it comes to President Obama's ability to make cabinet picks, steeerike two!
Not including of course, his ability to elect tax evaders to watch over tax-payers.

Obama's Contradictions

Bloggers, start your engines. With only three weeks in office, there's so much stuff to dine on already.

What? You think I wasn't going to find something like this? oh, there'll be plenty more where that came from.

Obama's Number One Fan

This is just too funny (and a little scary) not to spread around. It's like this kid met the actual Messiah.

Is it any wonder this flake has worked at McDonalds for four years? I fear he may have a slight case of emphysema as well. Take a breath, kid.

The Take of Beck

The take of the always entertaining Glen Beck, on Obama's political intelligence, the stimulus package and how the president is taking everyone down that dark, barren road of socialism.
I embeded these from FOX's website, so sorry for the commercials and the size of the picture.
Yes, I tried expanding it, using the HTML, but no go.

Obama May Become A Disaster

By James Lewis

By their actions ye shall know them. By now we are seeing an ominous pattern of actions by the O administration. We know that President Obama is a very slick liar indeed, but then so was Bill Clinton. But Clinton had a smaller majority in Congress, and was forced to compromise after the Gingrich Congress was elected in 1994. It is still possible that Obama may turn toward the mainstream. But the early omens look dark.

Foreign and military affairs

There is a reason why Israel s voters are suddenly turning to the center-Right Netanyahu and Likud. They fear that for the first time since Harry Truman, an American administration is turning against the Jewish State. Obama s first phone call after the election was made to Mahmoud Abbas. His first television interview was with Al Arabiya. The appointments of Samantha Power and Susan Rice bode ill for the entire Middle East. A meeting with Hugo Chavez -- to negotiate what, exactly? Forthcoming recognition of radical Islamofascist Iran on their terms, not ours, are all ominous straws in the wind. Richard Holbrooke has just infuriated two crucial governments in Pakistan and Afghanistan, by predicting their doom, and still was appointed special envoy to those governments.

The O's just announced a 10% cut in the planned increase* in the defense budget, while the overall budget deficit has just risen by two trillion dollars. That may signal a Carteresque drawdown in our burdened military. This is not the time to lower our guard, but like Jimmy Carter, the O administration is betting against history.

We now know that in violation of Federal law, the Obama campaign started negotiations with Iran, Syria and perhaps Hugo Chavez long before American voters elected O. That flagrant disregard for the law and for simple propriety signals a radical turn Left. If that is accurate, expect the Obama administration to start a scapegoating campaign against Binyamin Netanyahu if he becomes Prime Minister. That would be the first time that any American administration has turned against an elected leader of a vigorous, pro-American democratic ally. The voters in Israel may be preparing to go it alone if necessary. It would be difficult, but it can be done.

Flunking Econ 101

The O administration has some sensible economic voices, but they don't seem to carry much clout. Larry Summers is fairly mainstream, Robert Reich is turning radical, and Paul Krugman is a hair-pulling wild man. The so-called stimulus bill is pure political payoff to Democrat city machines, the teachers' unions, and faithful leftwing armies like ACORN. Those 1.17 trillion dollars are not designed to stimulate normal economic activity, defined as products and services that Americans want and will work for -- which is what "supply and demand" really means, after all.

The economy is one gigantic incentive machine. Take away the incentive value of work and buying things, and yes, you will get a very bad recession. And no, Nancy Pelosi has it wildly wrong by arguing that more subsidized birth control means more wealth per person, for those who are actually born. The administration is even ignoring the first-grade lessons of the Smooth-Hawley with its buy-American provisions in the House bill. Suddenly alarmist headlines are appearing in the worshipful European press. Will the US turn protectionist under Obama? Watch what the Senate does with the outlandish House bill, and we will know the answer.

Future generations are being burdened with this second trillion dollar payoff in a few months -- after the first trillion bucks for TARP. But fear not. The O administration is promising yet more trillions in spending, under the mad delusion that the New Deal didn't spend enough on things people didn't want. The stock market is signaling fear and doubt. So far, the market looks to be right.

A Commissar style of governance

Vladimir Lenin pioneered a double-layered style of control by Soviet Party Commissars. Every government official and military officer was doubled by a Party Commissar, who wielded the real power. The result was wild swings between radicalization and stagnation in the USSR. Nobody could act without worrying about the local Commissars, who owed their real allegiances to the Kremlin. Obama is using a similar strategy by directing Samantha Power to go wherever new SecState Hillary Clinton goes.

Those two ladies hate each other, even before Power called Hillary "a monster" during the primaries. Power will report on Hillary to the White House. The Obamas are introducing a parallel staff for the major departments in the White House, to keep a jealous eye on its own appointees. The Clintons did this with the Justice Department, where Jamie Gorelick was the real power at Justice, and Janet Reno became the PR front. We know about the results in a suicidal anti-terror policy, the cynical return of the little refugee boy Elian Gonzalez to the Castro tyranny, and the Waco massacre.

A Government-Media fusion

Karl Marx told his followers "First, conquer the Organs of Propaganda." In Marx's Germany there was no free press. Britain was one of the few examples of relative freedom in Europe, which is why Marx ended up being a foreign correspondent in London, as a ferocious public enemy of capitalism and elected governments.

Last week we found out that Rahm Emmanuel, George Stephanopoulos, James Carville and Paul Begala have been carrying on daily, hour-long conference calls for the last 17 years, even while they were hopping from one top job to another in the White House, ABC News, and various liberal political campaigns. If you think all the big media sound oddly similar, we now now why.

A lockstep alliance between government and the big media is a marker of radical Leftist rulers. Putin just had a couple of more journalists murdered in Moscow. That is not likely to happen here, but then, it wont be necessary. The big media are already PR flacks for the Left. Well, just to make that relationship of buyer and bought explicit, a Boston Globe journalist has just proposed a special Federal bailout for newsies who have utterly destroyed their own audiences. Somewhere in Hell Jozef Goebbels is smiling.

Appointing openly corrupt officials

Obama's no-lobbyist rule is now a public joke. Confessed tax cheaters were propopsed for top positions, like Tom Daschle and Timothy Geithner. Big lobbyist power couples in Washington are being drawn in, including the Daschles. And of course we have the endless Congressional show of Democrat corruption by Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd and far too many others.

The appointment of radical Greenies to positions like the "Science Czar" -- a huge self-contradiction -- are sending very bad signals to the giant Federal research establishment.

Moving against conservative media

Immediately after the election, Fox News and Washington Times reporters were thrown off the Obama campaign plane. Obama's first television interview just took place with terror-supporting Al-Arabiya TV, an Islamist riff on CNN. A Republican FCC member has warned that a disguised censorship rule giving local leftist groups additional "community input" into radio license renewals may become law by administrative fiat.

That's what we are seeing so far. Keep a sharp eye out in the coming weeks and months. Let's hope the O's will see reason somehow. But so far, the signals sent by their actions are ominous.

The Truth About Che Guevara, Castroite Politics and Hollywood Morons

Tune in, Turn on-Get Shot

By Humberto Fontova

"Del Toro was fascinated with Che Guevara from the first time he heard his name mentioned in the Rolling Stones song Indian Girl," reads the introduction to an interview with Benicio del Toro last month in Britain's Guardian. "Of course he found himself fascinated by Ernesto Che Guevara - he loved the Stones, and Emotional Rescue was the first album he'd bought. "I hear of this guy and he's got a cool name. Che Guevara!" Del Toro as good as swoons when he says it. "Groovy name, groovy man, groovy politics!"

"So I went to a library and I was looking at books, and I came across a picture by René Burri of Che, smiling, in fatigues, I thought, 'Dammit, this guy is cool-looking!' "

Well, there you have it. What's next? Probably a Youtube featuring a weeping, wailing Benicio del Toro titled : "Leave Che Alone!"

In effect, del Toro speaks for millions of Che groupies. "Che Guevara has given rise to a cult of almost religious hero worship among radical intellectuals and students across much of the Western world," proclaimed Time magazine in May 1968. With his hippie hair and wispy revolutionary beard, Che is the perfect postmodern conduit to the nonconformist, seditious '60s."

"1968 actually began in 1967 with the murder of Che," recounts Christopher Hitchens. "His death meant a lot to me, and countless like me, at the time. He was a role model."

It's interesting that del Toro got hooked on Che from a Rolling Stones song. The Stones, after all, in their classic Sympathy for the Devil, cast Lucifer as directing Che's mentors, models and early suitors -- the Bolsheviks: "Stood around St Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change...killed the Czar and his ministers....Anastasia screamed in vain."

Had Benicio del Toro born two decades earlier and in Cuba and attempted the lifestyle of a U.S. teenager or campus rebel, his "digging" of Castroite Cuba would have been of a more literal nature. Benicio would have found himself digging ditches and mass graves in a prison camp system inspired by the man he glorified in a current movie, compared (favorably) to Jesus Christ, and to whom he dedicated his Cannes Film Festival "Best Actor" award. Had del Toro's digging in a Cuban forced-labor camp lagged, a "groovy" Czech machine-gun butt might have shattered his teeth or perhaps some "groovy" Soviet bayonets slashed his buttocks.

In a famous speech in 1961 Che Guevara denounced the very "spirit of rebellion" as "reprehensible." "Youth must refrain from ungrateful questioning of governmental mandates" commanded Guevara. "Instead they must dedicate themselves to study, work and military service."

-Benicio Del Toro

And woe to those youths "who stayed up late at might and thus reported to work (government forced-labor) tardily." Youth, wrote Guevara, " should learn to think and act as a mass." "Those who chose their own path" (as in growing long hair and listening to Yankee-Imperialist Rock & Roll) were denounced as worthless "lumpen" and "delinquents." In his famous speech Che Guevara even vowed, "to make individualism disappear from Cuba! It is criminal to think of individuals!"
Tens of thousands of Cuban youths learned that Che Guevara's admonitions were more than idle bombast. In Che Guevara the hundreds of Soviet KGB and East German STASI "consultants" who flooded Cuba in the early 60's, found an extremely eager acolyte. By the mid 60's the crime of a "rocker" lifestyle or effeminate behavior got thousands of youths yanked off Cuba's streets and parks by secret police and dumped in prison camps with "Work Will Make Men Out of You" in bold letters above the gate and with machine gunners posted on the watchtowers. The initials for these camps were UMAP, not GULAG, but the conditions were quite similar.

Today the world's largest image of the man Benicio del Toro honors on screen and in multiple interviews, adorns Cuba's headquarters for it's KGB-trained secret police, a gang of Communist sadists who jailed and tortured at a rate higher than Stalin's own KGB and GRU.

"Rates," hardly tell the story however. Upon arriving in Havana on January of 1959 after an utterly bogus guerrilla war, Che Guevara immediately recognized the moat around Havana's La Cabana fortress as a handy-dandy execution pit. At Babi-Yar Hitler's SS had to dig one. Here Che Guevara had one ready made.

In 1961 a 20 year-old boy named Tony Chao Flores took his place at the execution stake, but he hobbled to it on crutches. He'd taken 17 bullets from their Czech machine guns when the Castroites captured him. On the way to the execution stake at the old Spanish fort turned to a prison and execution ground by Che Guevara, Tony was forced to hobble down some cobblestone stairs. Tony tumbled down the long row of steps and finally lay on the cobblestones at the bottom, writhing and grimacing. One of Tony's bullet-riddled legs had been amputated at the hospital, the other was gangrened and covered in pus. The Castroite guards cackled as they moved in to gag Tony with their tape.

Tony watched them approach while balling his good hand into a fist. Then as the first Red reached him BASH!! right across his eyes.

"I'll never understand how Tony survived that beating," says eyewitness Hiram Gonzalez who watched from his window on deathrow, screaming in helpless rage at the Communist guards. The crippled Tony was almost killed in the kicking, punching, gun-bashing melee but finally his captors stood off, panting and rubbing their scrapes and bruises. They'd managed to tape the battered boys mouth, but Tony pushed the guards away before they bound his hands. Their commander nodded, motioning for them to back off.

Now Tony started crawling towards the splintered and blood-spattered execution stake about 50 yards away, pushing and dragging himself with his hands as his stump of a leg left a trail of blood on the grass. As he neared the stake he'd stop and start pounding himself in the chest. His executioners seemed perplexed. The crippled boy was trying to say something. But his message was muzzled by the gag del Toro's idol made obligatory for his thousands of execution victims.

Tony's blazing eyes and grimace said enough. But no one could understand the boy's mumblings. Tony kept pushing himself, shutting his eyes tightly from the agony of the effort. His executioners shuffled nervously, raised their rifles, lowered them. They looked towards their commander who shrugged. Finally Tony reached up to his face and ripped off the tape Benicio del Toro's pin-up boy required for his condemned.

The 20 year-old freedom-fighter's voice boomed out. "Shoot me RIGHT HERE!" roared Tony at his gaping executioners. His voice thundered and his head bobbed with the effort. "Right in the CHEST!" Tony yelled. "Like a MAN!" Tony stopped and ripped open his shirt, pounding his chest and grimacing as his gallant executioners gaped and shuffled. "Right HERE!" he pounded.

On his last day alive, Tony had received a letter in jail from his mother. "My dear son," she counseled. "How often I'd warned you not to get involved in these things. But I knew my pleas were vain. You always demanded your freedom, Tony, even as a little boy. So I knew you'd never stand for communism. Well, Castro and Che finally caught you. Son, I love you with all my heart. My life is now shattered and will never be the same, but the only thing left now, Tony . . . is to die like a man."

"FUEGO!!" Che's lackey yelled the command and the bullets shattered Tony's crippled body, just as he'd reached the stake, lifted himself and stared resolutely at his murderers. But Che's firing squads usually murdered a hero who was standing. The legless Tony presented an awkward target. So some of the volley went wild and missed the youngster. Time for the coup de grace.

Normally it's one .45 slug that shatters the skull. Eyewitnesses say Tony required . . . POW!-POW! . . . POW! -- three. Seems the executioner's hands were shaking pretty badly. But they finally managed. The man Time magazine's hails among the "heroes and icons of the Century" had another notch in his gun. Another enemy dispatched -- bound and gagged as usual.

Castro and Che were in their mid-30s when they murdered Tony. According to the authoritative "Black Book of Communism" their firing squads riddled another 14,000 bound and gagged freedom-fighters. Many (perhaps most) of their murder victims were boys in their late-teens and early 20s. Some were even younger.

Compare Tony's death to Guevara's capture: "Don't shoot!" whimpered the arch-assassin to his captors. "I'm Che! I'm worth more to you alive than dead!"

Then ask yourselves: whose face belongs on T-shirts worn by youth who fancy themselves, rebellious, freedom-loving and brave? Who deserves a Hollywood movie?
