The Obama Doctrine

Even the AP Can Smell a Rat

The Associated Press, not exactly a flame-throwing harbringer of a news organization when it comes to President Obama, recently did a "fact-check" on his justifications on going into a "kinetic military action." I think even they are crying shananigans. Go figure.

The Press, Obama, Libya and Bush

I know that many of you are sick of hearing me blame the MSM for all the right's misfortunes (like a certain comment left on here, about a different post) and the fact that they collectively appease and apologize for President Obama and any Democrat, but that's what they do. It's a fact and everybody knows it. You can deny it and complain about me writing about it, but it's true. And you know it's true. But I've pretty much said it time and time again and even I'm getting tired of talking about it. That's not to say I won't continue, but for now, I'll let Brent Bozell carry on with the media's love affair with everything Obama (especially his flip-flops and his cognizent lies) and hatred for everything Bush. You know the guy that's been out of office for two years already?

Oh Good Lord...WHAT?!

Former NBC Nightly News anchor, Tom Brokaw was on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning and actually said to Matt Lauer, "Well in my adult lifetime. Certainly FDR did have these challenges. But in my adult lifetime and as a reporter, here you have a president who has two wars underway, is engaged in really what is a third war. The world's third largest economy, Japan, has been gravely wounded by a tsunami and an earthquake - now has a nuclear meltdown....And then we have, here at home, a recession that we cannot completely get out of yet. And political paralysis in Washington over the budget. All of that has arrived at, at the Oval Office, at the same time... but there have been few that have come as swiftly as all of these have from unexpected circumstances."
Yeeeah. So in his "adult lifetime" no other president has had to face the colossal challenges that Obama has had to. Well, that's the job of a world leader. He's not the bringer of potato salad anymore. He actually has a real job now that will throw things his way (that he obviously cannot handle and needs the establishment media to help and bail him out of all his ineffectiveness) But let's take a look at what Brokaw said there.
"Well in my adult lifetime...there have been few [events] that have come as swiftly as all of these have from unexpected circumstances."
Do I have to? Really?
Let's just mention real quick that even the lefts ultimate hero, JFK and Lyndon Johnson had to deal with the Vietnam War and civil rights, Johnson also had to deal with Cambodia, and Laos, not to mention the assassination of Kennedy.Reagan had to deal with the economic mess left behind by Carter, Iran, the Cold War, Nicaragua, Chernobyl. Also Reagan and Ford had to deal with assassination attempts on their very lives. George W. Bush had well, a commenter came up with a good list, some things I forgot about or didn't even know about (thanks MSM) like...
"Well, right out of the starting block, he inherited an on-going game of cat an mouse in the skies over the coast of China - Clinton had been warned that it was getting dicey, and sure enough, soon enough one of our spy planes collided with one of their less talented fighter jet boys, and a darn hostage situation arose. Our true to form MSM didn't miss a beat - they were already experienced in dealing with Republican presidents - there was no history in place, from the previous administration, that will be mentioned again.
Everything bad from this point on, would be created/caused by the new president. This MO will reverse as soon as the next Democratic president takes his seat - you see. Bush inherited the fallout from the collapse of the DotCom bubble in March of 2000. Results - a recession and a quick return to massive federal (and state) deficits. You see - trillions in predicted federal tax receipts dried up with that collapse.
Bush inherited a military - devoid of parts, supply, and soon to be needed modern battle ready equipment to protect our troops from what else he inherited...
9/11.
Bush inherited a dangerous housing bubble, born of Clinton and Andrew Cuomo's HUD. We know how that ended up. That ole Clinton, man of many bubbles. Oh yea - and that there deregulation of Clinton's.
Bush inherited a historic spiraling out-of-control HIV/Aids and malaria pandemic in Africa and other 3rd world countries.
Unlike his predecessor, he would propose, submit, get passed, implement, and complete on schedule and on budget while meeting/exceeding all of his goals in saving perhaps millions of lives and in preventing the spread of HIV/Aids to many millions more. The left is outraged here, that Obama is not filling the over-sized shoes that Bush left behind for him to step into.
He also inherited the aftermath in Africa of the most deadly conflict since WWII - in the DR Congo. Following Clinton's promise to the Rwandans, next door, some 3 1/2 million human beings would die - many in genocide - by the time Clinton ran out the door saying, "aye, I was great, wasn't I?"
Speaking of Africa - he'd inherited a uprising in Liberia - shut that down very quickly (Bush is a hero down there), and the aftermath of the conflicts in the Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and a rebirth of the ages old conflict in the Sudan. The MSM which had looked the other way during the Rwandan and the DR Congo conflicts - doing their best to protect Clinton's legacy, would be quick out of the starting gates to challenge Bush to do more in Darfur.
Down in South America, Bush inherited a terrible crisis in Colombia. Here however, Clinton had just put in motion a $5 billion Plan Colombia mostly disguised as a drug war, but just as serious in providing military aid to defeat the leftist rebels who'd been blowing up oil facilities for the past decade and taking Americans hostage (over 100 in captivity when Bush came in). Bush took control, beefed up some of the plan - to the horror of the MSM and the left - and by time Bush left office, Colombia had returned to normal, and Al Gore's old buddies Occidental Pet, had pulled out.
Also along the way, during the Clinton years, someone running the ship in Washington had not done their job when a "humanitarian" (not the first one I mentioned here) crisis was unfolding in Afghanistan as the radical Taliban seized control of this once proud country in the mid-90's, and subsequently giving a home to al Qaeda, so that they could plan 9/11. We've mentioned that before.
Not to be outdone, in the humanitarian crisis area, N. Korea was still reeling from the 2 million of it's citizens who had died during the late 90's famine, while it was reneging on it's agreement with Clinton, to abandon it's nuclear bomb program.
There was more. Ain't it just amazing that a national news anchor who'd sit there as all of these events unfolded, and not recall any of them."
What say you Brokaw?

Obama's "Mission in Libya" Speech

No comments. He said enough hot air for the both of us. Yeah, yeah, he once again said what he thinks you should hear; until he does the exact opposite. By the sounds of it, it's already "mission accomplished."

Koppel Asks for More Media Objectivity

Former Nightline anchor, Ted Koppel was on CNN's Reliable Sources on Sunday and when the subject of journalism came up, the obviously liberal-biased former ABC anchor said, "I think the journalism requires, and our times require, a little more serious objectivity." He added, "And I think there has to be a willingness on the part of the public to accept that journalism is trying to do an honest job of giving them an objective accounting of what's going on in the world and an objective appraisal of what's really important in the world."

Whatever. It's funny for a guy who made public, on-the-air comments like these expects to be seen as "objective":

“To call something an ‘enhanced interrogation technique’ doesn’t alter the fact that we thought it was torture when the Japanese used it on American prisoners, we thought it was torture when the North Koreans used it, we thought it was torture when the Soviets used it....You know, it’s almost the moral equivalent of saying that rape is an enhanced seduction technique.
”— in a commentary for the BBC’s World News America, May 11, 2009.

"It’s a sign of the times: Thirty-five years ago, he [George W. Bush] joined the Texas Air National Guard to stay out of Vietnam. And now, he’s going to Vietnam to stay out of Washington."— joking about the President’s trip to an economic summit in Vietnam, on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, November 15, 2006.

“There were some fairly contentious issues and he was a fairly controversial President – we’ve more or less overlooked much of that over the past week. But I suspect as his friends and supporters try to raise to him to the very heights there, and perhaps find a place for him on Mount Rushmore, that some of that controversy and some of the debate will come back.”Peter Jennings: “No doubt about it.”– Exchange during ABC’s live coverage of Reagan funeral events about 7:45pm EDT on June 11, 2004.

“When you say he’s ‘a good and decent man,’ I don’t know him that well personally myself, I have no way of judging one way or the other. But I must tell you I often listen to him when I’m driving into work, and what I hear on the radio is frequently – I don’t want to say hateful, that’s going a little too far – but he says and does things on the radio that are so disparaging of homosexuals, African-Americans, the homeless. As I say, I think it’s clearly part of the act, but it’s not gentlemanly, it’s not kind.”–Nightline Oct. 2 2003, rejecting talk show host G. Gordon Liddy’s description of Limbaugh.

"At the same time, he will have to find a way to disassociate himself from the President’s extremely low personal approval ratings. It shouldn’t be that difficult. Al Gore has been perhaps the most active Vice President in American history, and there’s not a hint of scandal associated with Gore’s personal behavior. So much for logic."-previewing Al Gore’s convention address, August 14, 2000.

"Let us not for a moment be confused into believing that this is only a conservative Republican thing, this business of some people feeling threatened by smart, assertive, professional women....Women who speak their minds in public are still swimming upstream in this country."--August 18, 1992.

So if there's no media bias (if he meant FOX, surely he would have said so by name) then why would a stalwart of the left-wing media say that there needs to be "a little more serious objectivity?" He also said that the public has to more or less suspend their disbelief to believe that the media is "trying to do an honest job of objective accounting of what's going on in the world." So what does that tell you?

More Mid East Hypocrisy Exposed

More anti-Israeli bias and unfounded hatred by the BBC among others. From HonestReporting.

Who Needs Congressional Approval When You Have a "Multilateral Coalition?"

Jake Tapper interviewed both Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and asked was Libya an imminent threat to the U.S. and why wasn't Congress asked permission? Gates answered the first question with, "No, no," It was not — it was not a vital national interest to the United States, but it was an interest and it was an interest for all of the reasons Secretary Clinton talked about. The engagement of the Arabs, the engagement of the Europeans, the general humanitarian question that was at stake."

Clinton, on the other hand answered the second question hypocritically on behalf of President Obama with, “Well, we would welcome congressional support, but I don’t think that this kind of internationally authorized intervention where we are one of a number of countries participating to enforce a humanitarian mission is the kind of unilateral action that either I or President Obama was speaking of several years ago. I think that this had a limited time frame, a very clearly defined mission which we are in the process of fulfilling."

A limited time frame? The president has said it will take days or weeks, not months. But to Tapper's question of "Some NATO officials say this could be three months, but people in the Pentagon think it could be far longer than that. Do you think we’ll be gone by the end of the year? Will the mission be over by the end of the year?" Even Gates contradicted Obama and Clinton by saying, "I don’t think anybody knows the answer to that."

You figure Clinton and Gates would have compared notes before the interview.

I don't remember seeing anywhere in the Constitution that says, Sec. 4 (b): "The President shall provide such other information as the Congress may request in the fulfillment of its constitutional responsibilities with respect to committing the Nation to war and to the use of United States Armed Forces abroad...unless he has a multilateral coalition."

What was it that Vice-President (then Senator) Biden said about George W. Bush in regards to going to war without Congressional approval, "I want to make it clear to Bush that if he starts a war with Iran without congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him."

Under the War Resolution Act of 1973, Obama had 48 hours to inform Congress of committing forces to battle without their full approval. He failed to do so. And he's a constitutional "scholar," remember.

But everything is different when you're a Democrat.

No Rights for Pro-Lifers, Tea Party

So says New Jersey Democrat Senator, Frank Lautenburg at a recent Planned Parenthood rally:
"Those who don't respect the rights of women [to have abortions] don't earn the freedoms that are guaranteed in the Constitution."

And about the Tea Party...
"They don't deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution. But we'll give them to them anyway."

So illegal immigrants, terrorists and abortion supporters deserve rights, but not those trying to save killing children in the womb or those who are against big government. Freedom, rights, liberty and justice for all...for the left only.

P.S.

A great comment left on the end of this post at Moonbattery.

"Here's my right-winger's challenge to the left: No podiums. No talk. No euphemisms. I'll go watch a murderer be put to death, and you go watch a partial birth abortion being performed. Deal?"

Palin Swats Back at "Annoying Little Mosquito" Mahr

If the National Organization of Feminazis won't defend Sarah Palin because she's a conservative Republican (not that she needs their help, but that's their job, isn't it?) then, as always, she'll have to shoo away the chauvinists such as Bill Maher herself:

“Upon my return from an outstanding and productive trip to India and Israel, I’ve been inundated with requests to respond to petty comments made in the media the past few days, including one little fella’s comment which decent people would find degrading. (I won’t bother responding to it though, because it was made by he who reminds me of an annoying little mosquito found zipped up in your tent; he can’t do any harm, but buzzes around annoyingly until it’s time to give him the proverbial slap.)”

Amen, sister. However, he should be slapped anyway, just for fun. Then we can see all the liberal media come out in droves to wipe his tears , runny nose and ensure him he's a good little boy. Then he'll feel comfortable enough once again to show his disdain for people smarter and more tolerant than him; while completely misinforming people on the Constitution, the law, religion and most of all, history.

Ho Hum, Another Federal Election for Canada

So now that the opposition has used an Elections Canada "scandal" to defeat the budget and find the government in contempt of Parliament, the Canadian people must now deal with another general election after Governor General, David Johnston dissolved Parliament and thus obligating the Canadian people to another round of debates, name-calling and smear. This will be the fourth election in seven years. Canada's PostMedia News has the story.

Obama Seeks to Assure Lawmakers on Libya Strategy

Breitbart Tossed from HuffPo for Truthful Assessment of Van Jones

Even though he didn't say it on The Huffington Post, conservative columnist, activist and author, Andrew Breitbart has lost his position of front page blogger at the left-wing site due to his truthful tellings of disgraced former "Green Czar" and admitted communist, Van Jones.

Breitbart, who was not defended by "personal friend" and HuffPo owner Arianna Huffington who is also reportedly close to Van Jones, said in an interview with The Daily Caller that Jones is a "commie punk." This is true. But the difference is, lefties at HuffPo can say whatever they want about whomever they want without fear of retribution. Breitbart's claims of left-wing bias, while always obvious, have now been proven. Lee Stranahan agrees.

Van Jones threw a hissyfit and started a petition to have Breitbart thrown off the front page. He won. Therefore, only Jones and his ideologues can use divisive and vitriolic language against their detractors...all detractors. The ironic part is, the Huffington Post allowed a communist to dictate who is a liar and who isn't. Given the track record of Communists historically, this is indeed rich. I don't seem to recall the left admonishing Jones for calling Republicans "a**holes," the president of the United States "a crack head" or for saying "whitey pollutes black communities." So his petition is just an obvious rant from a true racist that is still enraged that Breitbart exposed him.

Of course, HuffPo spokesman, Mario Ruiz, scribed the typical asinine excuse for the site as to why Breitbart was let go of his responsibilities:

"The Huffington Post is committed to fostering a lively and often provocative debate about the issues of the day and encourages a wide range of voices from all perspectives to participate. Andrew Brietbart’s [sic] false ad hominem attack on Van Jones in The Daily Caller violates the tenets of debate and civil discourse we have strived for since the day we launched. As a result, we will no longer feature his posts on the front page.

He is welcome to continue publishing his work on HuffPost provided it adheres to our editorial guidelines, as the two posts he published on HuffPost did -- guidelines that include a strict prohibition on ad hominem attacks. Our decision today recognizes that placing posts on the front page is an editorial call that elevates some posts over others, and is an indication of how seriously we take these judgment calls."

Road apples! How is this any different from Muslim fanatic fronts such as CAIR rattling off their own spin, hatred and lies, then condemning anyone who dares to expose their mission to introduce Sharia Law into America among other atrocities against liberty?

al Queda Fighting Alongside Rebels Against Qaddafi Forces?

British Columnist Under Investigation For Criticizing Terrorists

And On it Goes

After 10 years of war in Iraq, the lefty media still clings to the historical lie that George W. Bush went into Iraq "unilaterally," without a coalition of countries in support. Now while it's true that some of these countries only sent a team of literally 30 or so soldiers, the liberal meme is that the U.S. went in alone, without Congress's approval and without a U.N. mandate. Well, the mandate part is true and there still hasn't been a declaration of war, but 40 countries, more than twice as many as Obama has in Libya right now, found it worthy of invasion along with the U.S. to remove Saddam Hussein from power and institute a democracy that millions of Iraqis agreed with and risked their lives from terrorist authoritarians threatening to kill them if they voted for freedom. But again the truth matters not to the left, so all those British, Spanish, Japanese, Chezs, Slovaks, Polish, South Koreans, Turks, Italians, etc. were never there at all.

The Media Research Center's Brent Bozell points out the liberal media's typical double standard. And AllahPundit at Hot Air adds that Obama's coaliton is the smallest since the Cold War.

And I'm still waiting for all that "stolen oil" to rear it's head and bring down the gas prices.

Geraldine Ferraro Passes Away

Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to run on a major party national ticket for vice president and the woman who opened the gate for other female politicians such as Sarah Palin has died. She was 75.

Palin wrote a tribute to Ferraro on her facebook page :

"My family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Ferraro. When I had the honor of working alongside Geraldine on election night last year, we both discussed the role of women in politics and our excited expectation that someday that final glass ceiling would be shattered by the election of a woman president. She was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to public service as a teacher, prosecutor, Congresswoman, and Vice Presidential candidate. She broke one huge barrier and then went on to break many more. The world will miss her. May she rest in peace and may her example of hard work and dedication to America continue to inspire all women. ~ Sarah Palin"

This Can't be True

Can it?

Reportedly, a journalist from the Orlando Sentinel Reporter, Scott Powers, was to cover a Democratic fund-raiser at philanthropist Alan Ginsburg's home in Winter Park, FL. Powers was the designated "pool reporter" for Vice President Joe Biden's Wednesday visit to the massive home. The veep hadn't arrived yet but most of the 150 guests were "busy noshing on caprice crostini with oven-dried mozzarella and basil, rosemary flatbread with grapes honey and Gorgonzola cheese and bacon deviled eggs, before a lunch of grilled chicken Caesar and garden vegetable wraps."

Not so for Powers, who was unceremoniously placed into a storage closet, guarded by a "low-level staffer" and not allowed to leave while the staffer stood guard outside. "When I'd stick my head out, they'd say, 'Not yet. We'll let you know when you can come out.'"

What else can I say? This administrations ongoing lies about transparency is a joke. I don't expect anyone really believed that from the outset, but to allegedly lock a reporter in a closet? Are you kidding me?

Newsbusters has the story, via the Drudge Report.

What Is It Anyway?

In case you're wondering about the mess that is President Obama's Libyan mandate (and that of the economy among others) here is Monica Crowley, apparently as confused as the rest of us. So what the heck is a "kinetic military action?" Is it anything like a "man-made disaster?" Is it a war between psychics? Is Professor Xavier involved? Is Magneto? Please someone tell me. She also has a few more questions...

Right?

NOW Says They Defended Palin by Not Defending Her

This is what passes as a defense for conservative women in general and Sarah Palin in particular:

"Listen, supposedly progressive men (ok, and women, too): Cut the crap! Stop degrading women with whom you disagree and/or don't like by using female body terms or other gender-associated slurs. OK? Can you do that, please? If you think someone's an idiot or a danger to the country, feel free to say so, but try to keep their sex out of it. Sexist insults have an impact on all women." -Lisa Bennett, NOW Communications Director

The latest culprit, Bill Maher, as you may have noticed was not even mentioned. Not his name, the words he used, when he said it, on what show (his own) or what network. So in other words, it didn't happen. Bill Maher and HBO are now free to keep on bashing Palin and conservative women like Michelle Bachmann and Christine O'Donnel with disgusting sexual references and female body parts, with absolutely no fear of retribution or even admonishment.

Ms. Bennet also doesn't take kindly to her own members seeing through her hypocrisy, without being short with them:

Comment from: jazcat [Member]Love #1, don't understand #2. You believe the right-wingers are trying to discredit NOW. Wouldn't it be easy to make a statement whenever some idiotic "entertainer" makes any kind of degrading comment about any woman. I mean, quick, easy, done. @ 16:53

Comment from: notasexistman [Member]I would agree with #1, not a classy or PC thing to do, very degrading to women, but could you explain # 2? And could you give specific examples?03/22/11 @ 16:56

Bennet responded:
Comment from: Lisa Bennett, NOW Communications Director [Member]I said all I had to say. If it doesn't make sense to you, it never will.03/22/11 @ 17:05

A bit touchy, wouldn't you say? I think Bennet and NOw's mission is quite clear.

Divine Intervention?

When President Obama returned from his five-day trip to Latin America yesterday, apparently no one at the White House was told he was arriving. He unsuccessfully tried to enter the Oval Office through the Rose Garden entrance, but was couldn't find his way in. Was this a sign that maybe somebody didn't want Obama to return to his "duties?" Probably not, since he did manage to find his way in, but it's nice to think about.

The Accidental President

Victor Volsky of American Thinker has gathered his thoughts on why President Obama is wasting time with bullying, women's month, and college basketball picks (three subjects that on their own may warrant five minutes of a president's time, but certainly not when there are two wars going on and several domestic problems (gas prices, unemployment, rising deficit, etc.)

Of Course He Is

Apparently, no one, especially the media, sees any hypocrisy or double-standard in letting a someone, let alone a president involved in two wars, icluding one he started himself, that didn't deserve a Nobel Peace Prize to begin with letting him keep his unearned prize.

It's beyond ironic that Obama said, "[I] don’t see any contradiction [in him ordering an attack on Libya to make sure] “people aren’t butchered because of a dictator who wants to cling to power.”

Obama actually said that? Well, didn't the other guy pretty much try and defend his position with the same explanation? Oh right. That was the evil Bush. This is the savior of the world Obama. So, you know, carry on.

Gorlick to Run FBI?

The woman that was allegedly was responsible for putting up a "wall" between the communication lines of America's intelligence and law enforcement agencies that may have contributed to 19 Muslim terrorists high-jacking four commercial airliners and crashing them into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon is reportedly on President Obama's shortlist to head up the FBI.

Former U.S. Deputy Attorney General and Fannie Mae Vice-Chairman, Jamie Gorlick is apparently the best Obama can come up with to head America's top law enforcement agency.

Another swing and a miss for the in-over-his-head president.

There's War Mongers, Then There's "Reluctant Warriors"

Can You Spot the "It's O.K. Now Because There is a Democrat in the White House" Moment?

It's Howlin' Howard Dean again, showing the reason he isn't president. His soap-box sentiments are just a wee bit different now that Obama is running the show...I suppose.

It's different this time y'know.

Another Reporter Has Episode of On-Air Incoherence

Back in February, CBS reporter Serene Branson started garbeling incoherently on air for reasons doctors later described as "migrane with aura." People thought she had a stroke live on the air. Now, in Canada, a Toronto reporter with Global News seems to have suffered the same incoherency. Although Mark McAllistar was treated by paramedics almost immediately, and didn't appear to suffer from Branson's symptoms, it seems that when lefty reporters go off, they physically show signs of brain disorders. Who woulda thought?

O'Reilly Has Code Pink Founder On to Pile On Obama

This is not really a defense of President Obama as it is a "shame on you" to Bill O'Reilly. Last night he had anti-war group, Code Pink founder, Medea Benjamin on to discuss the hypocrisy of MSNBC and their anchors because of their blind support of President Obama over not just for sending forces to Libya, but for stepping up the war in Afghanistan at the same time while trying to maintain his image of a peacekeeper.

Now, while I appreciate both FOX News and Code Pink for showing the hypocrisy of both the president and The Mess, I can't say the same for O'Reilly. The fact that he has the founder of Code Pink on his show, the same anti-war group that shredded President George W. Bush at every given opportunity, ripping into President Obama for what they see are the same reasons; was only just for that, so O'Reilly could rip into Obama. That alone is not the problem. O'Reilly has an unlimited number of reasons to dissect Obama and his Socialistic policies. But to have the founder of a group on his show that he himself has called left-wing loons or "pinheads" for attacking Bush over the groups same, let's say concerns, is hypocritical in its own right.

That is all.

Don't Blame Bush for Budget Crisis

NOW Has No Time to Defend Palin

After foul-mouthed and historically ignorant Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a "stupid twat" on national television, the right demanded to know why the National Organization of Women hasn't demanded an apology of their own from Maher. NOW's answer? “We are on to you, right-wingers,” as they believe conservatives are attempting to use the issue to discredit their organization. Not that they have already discredited themselves through this and past inactions concerning Monica Lewinsky, Juanita Broaderick, Elizabeth Ward, Paula Corbin and Kathleen Wiley from Bill Clinton.

So you see, when a liberal woman makes an accusation, or when the left deems a right-winger has said something inappropriate that warrants the end of their career, NOW is right on it. When a conservative woman is smeared relentlessly and unfairly, it's not even a blip on their feminazi radar. Because Palin is a conservative after all and she deserves everything she gets.

Since "women's" groups like NOW only exist to defend liberal woman from false allegations and presumptions, I think they should be de-funded, too.

As far as NOW is concerned it's (still) open season on Sarah Palin and she's on her own. But that's o.k. She's a strong conservative woman and can take it as she has proven. And to quote the end of this story,"Somehow through it all, Palin just keeps on keeping on, which only drives them all crazier"

Canada's Conservative Party Guilty of "Willfully" Exceeding Spending Limit on 2006 Campaign?

Elections Canada has charged that the Conservative Party "willfully' exceeded an $18-million campaign spending limit in the election that saw Prime Minister Stephen Harper lead the Tories to a minority victory in 2006."

However, "Election Canada has had this ongoing vendetta against the Tories for years now and its becoming a little bit of a drama play over what is essentially accounting procedural wrangles. While not excusing those involved I think this has become political in nature and Election Canada itself needs to come under some scrutiny for what may be inappropriate politically motivated actions."

This is true. As is, "We know that nobody could bend the rules quite like the Chretien Liberals did in the 1990's which is why this is rich coming from Election Canada at this time.

But still. If rules were broken and fraud perpetuated, fixing the problem and disciplining those responsible has to start sometime. Too bad Elections Canada seems to have blinders on when it comes to dealing with Conservative-only wrong-doings.

U.S.Troops Caught in Another Photo Scandal

This time it is in Afghanistan. American troops have been caught with "trophy" photos of dead Afghan civilians. The furor over the Guantanamo Bay pictures of humiliated detainees had passed (again, what happened to the animals there, to be honest, I couldn't care less) when idiot soldiers not only take these defenseless photos, but allegedly took body parts as "war mementos," as well. Disgusting. Moreover, as the story says, "there were 12 soldiers charged with crimes last year ranging from murder to keeping body parts as war trophies after allegedly forming a self-styled 'kill squad' while they were deployed in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province." I think a lot of soldiers-but I doubt even a third-have, what concerned military commanders and politicians are saying, "lost sight of [their] original objectives."

There are legitimate concerns that these actions bare a striking resemblance to Taliban and mujahedeen tactics of taking home "trophies," including human teeth, ears, bones and skulls. These types of repugnant actions, although not altogether true, will have anti-war and anti-American factions such as Code Pink and the like; not to mention detractors of the war in all forms, using this as a reason to label American troops as bloodthirsty killers-but this time with good reason. But let's not let the Cindy Sheehans of the world dominate the conversation that sure to take place (with the anti-war media frothing at the mouth) about how every last soldier is a murderer.

The U.S. government has issued an apology that just doesn't hold water this time.
Meanwhile Angela Merkel are furious over the pictures of German soldiers involved.

And So On...

So when President Bush invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, the left-wing the world over said it was "illegal," "immoral," and "evil," among other narratives, despite the U.S. being attacked by Islamic fundamentalist that killed nearly 3000 innocent civilians from across the globe on American soil.

Yet when President Obama sends in American forces to aid rebels against Libyan tyrant, Mohammar Qaddafi, the liberal media forgets all about their past concerns for congressional permission and/or declaration of war for a country that "never attacked us."

After dithering on the matter, Obama finally sent in warships and fighter jets to Libya to aid those rebel forces fighting Qaddafi. But, the MSM hasn't yet found the time to be critical against the president's decision as they were against Bush. Every excuse to demonize W are now the same excuses to defend Obama. Of course, that's probably because Afghanistan and Iraq were "dumb wars" as opposed to "smart wars," huh? Is Libya a "just" and "necessary" war? It must be. The left says it is.

Some of my favourite examples of late are Cenk Uygur, Joan Walsh, and the always entertaining buffoon, Sgt. Schultz. I really don't have to mention, Tingle Boy, do I?

In addition to that, the media has seen fit to not even mention the detractors of Obama's policies in Brazil. As far as they're concerned, the president should have his own reality series, Everybody Loves Barry. Of course, that would work better as it was meant to be: a sitcom.

And on it goes. And yes, I'm tired of hearing about too.

Barry's Brackets

Kinda sums it up, donit'?
H/T to Moonbattery, via TED for the image.

Pakistani Actress Veena Malik Stands Up to Islamists

This is sad to watch. But at the same time you can't help but want to champion her. I mean the range of emotions she must be going through to think that just because of what others have said about her (instead of actually seeing what she did or didn't do) and her lsupposed lack of respect for her faith. She takes this typical, hypocritical Muslim cleric and throws all of his accusations right back in his fundamentalist, sniveling little face. She teaches him a thing or two about the rules of Islam and the texts of the Quran. This is what Muslim woman need to do to get the rightful respect they so richly deserve. Throw it back at them and speak the truth while maintaining their self-respect, dignity and integrity.

She really let him have it. Good for her and may God bless this strong woman.

Abortion Advocate Throws Firebomb at Elderly Woman at Prayer Vigil

Oh those peaceful, tolerent lefties. Is there no end to their forgiveness and understanding? What is there more to say? I was watching the television when CBS featured this story...no wait, they didn't. It must have been NBC...no. Well, it had to have been ABC. CNN? PBS? Um, nevermind.

Pelosi Hospitalized in Rome

Crooks & Liars Are Liars Says "Honest Liberal," Stranahan

For the second time in less than three days, the "honest liberal," Lee Stranahan has dissected the lies of the left and has now shown us one of the "ground zero" culprits. Crooks & Liars, the same left-wing website (among others, which I believe is Stranahan's point here) that unfairly and inaccurately dragged George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld's (who, I think everybody can agree was a wee bit incompetent at his Secretary of Defense position) names through the mud.

As for right now, this is the type of lefty blogger I can honestly sit and read without wanting to tear what's left of my hair out. He obviously can see the right-wing point of view without spinning or lying about it. Unless someone can point me to a column he has written that negates this new-found respect, here's a guy I can (hopefully) turn to to get a sane, liberal point of view.

The reason he decided to not be a flame-throwing looney lefty? Well, read for yourself.

Obama Informs Congress about Military Intentions in Libya

A couple of days late, but at least he let them know what's going on. Or, that's what I'm assuming, given that the president has shown that he really doesn't know what's going on most of the time about anything.

I guess he got the "O.K." from Congress, in the sense that they know what he wants to do and are informed of his actions, short of declaring war under the Constitution. And, it seems, he did a little political maneuvering to cover his backside, which I must admit (with the help of his normally incompetent advisors) was pretty smooth. But he still hasn't gotten an official declaration from Congress that the left was so adament about when it came to Prewident Bush and Iraq...until now.

Viral "Anti-Bully" Video Star Speaks Out

The Australian "gentle giant," Casey Heynes, who's self defense from a much smaller bully at school was caught on video and shown to the world over the last week or so, speaks out on Australian television about how he just had enough of being picked on for apparently years.

With the size of this kid-and the bigger he's going to get, I mean look at him, the kid is going to be a lineman-others at his school better be on notice. Casey Heynes is not going to take it anymore.

Good for him.

Female Muslim Comedienne Better Watch Herself

She's funny. And if there are more like her (and I have no reason to believe that there isn't) then there are those of the Muslim faith that can actually laugh at themselves and their religion. This is the first Muslim comedian I've seen that does just that. But she better have eyes in the back of her head, as a fatwa may be just around the corner for her.

Fonda Invitation to New Hampshire Women's Leadership Summit Retracted

Meanwhile...

Interesting to Say the Least

A pretty good scientific case for God.

"This Case Will Proceed Under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law"

I posted about this earlier. Have a good laugh? Think it's right-wing paranoia? It's racist? It's Islamophobia and whatever else the left has cried foul about? Well an idiot, power-hungry, left-wing judge in Florida proved it, Sharia Law is alive and clawing it's evil way into American courtrooms.

Like I said, it's almost over, folks.

Another War for a Democrat President, Again No OK from Congress

Bill Clinton did it in Bosnia and Barack Obama may just do it (if he hasn't already judging from the cruise missiles being lobbed) in Libya. With all their needless and immature whining about the Bush and Iraq or Afghanistan, he at least had Congress' ok-regardless of what they and their Andrea Mitchells of the world say.

You know, for a scholar of the Constitution, the president really needs a refresher course, don't you think?

Yep, Yet Another Column about the Mind of the Left

U.S. Launches Missiles at Libya

Nader Says Obama Should be Impeached

I'm not a Nader fan, nor will I ever be, but he makes a good point, if only in his comparison argument. If Bush was to be impeached for war crimes as the left has stated on countless numerous occasions, then why not Obama? Of course, not only has President Obama did nothing to warrant such action (the same with Bush, as everything he did was sanctioned by the Congress-both Republican and Democrat) but I don't see him doing anything in his (God willing) two years left in office to warrant anything like impeachment either. He's not exactly a slimeball like Clinton.

Crucifix "Does Not Breach Human Rights," Italian Court Rules

Warren Christopher Dies

The man who served as President Clinton's Secretary of State and who negotiated for the release of 52 American hostages held in Iran for 444 days and was a key figure in peace efforts in Bosnia and the Mideast, Warren Christopher, has died at 85.

Helen Thomas Still Hates Those Nasty Joooooos

Perhaps even more than before as she rips into "the Zionists" in a new Playboy interview.

I love how she prefixes her anti-Semitic rants with sarcastic acknowledgements of history. You know she blames them for losing her opinion column gig and her front-row seat in the White House Press room.

Wrong Again

President Obama's budget report on Friday was only off by a couple of trillion. And only 400 billion off over the next 10 years. No biggie.
Does anyone else notice this guy's numbers are always different than everyone else's?

Arab League Listening to Palin?

When former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin said three weeks ago that a no-fly zone be imposed over Libya to help the rebel forces there opposed to dictator, Col. Mohammar Qaddafi, the left typically scoffed at her suggestion, but now it looks as though Ahmed Chalabi and the Arab League are seconding her notion.

U.S. to Deploy More Support Ships to Libya

Telling

Just re-named a year ago, the elementary school in Asbury Park, New Jersey baring the president's name is closing. The school has existed for a hundred years, yet when they put Barry's name on it...kaput.

Although, a commenter made a very valid point, " I see the closing of a mismanaged, incompetent school as a good thing, but I'm a little confused about the quote which states: 'Not a single kid in the high school scored in the advanced category...' I wouldn't expect elementary kids to score high on a high school test."

However, if there's any justice in this universe, this should be a major omen.

No more brainwashing children with "Dear Leader" hymns, I guess.

An Honest Liberal

Lee Stranahan of The Huffington Post sees the obvious. Why doesn't his readers? It's all out there to be seen. Even through the media's filter.

UN OK's Airstrikes in Libya

It's Official, Joy Behar is an Ignorant, Sick, Twisted, B*tch

Pardon the language (even if there is a asterisk) but I had already had enough of The View's Joy Behar's ignorance on history and and just her general existence to be honest.
Nevermind that she said that illegals wouldn't be voting for Michelle Bachmann (then calling her a b*tch) called people that are tired of the fifth column in schools that indoctrinate impressionable youth with far-left liberal, Marxist ideals who want to home-school their kids as "demented," and has spewed a plethora of non-sensible and hate-filled propaganda defending terrorism in the Middle East (especially favoring the Jew-hating propaganda of Hamas and "Palestinians") or just with people who disagree with this no-talent witch in general.

Now she says victims of the Holocaust must have "been joking with each other" about it.

Is there anything this hate-filled monster won't get called on? Hello, disgraceful media. Where the hell are you?

Iranian Arms Headed for Gaza Stopped by Israelis

How dare those Israelis stop a ship full of arms destined for those peaceful "Palestinians" in Gaza! How are they supposed to lob missiles at Tel Aviv and such and at the same time have the world anti-Semitic media help them seem like victims?

Something has to be done about those damn Jooooos! I mean how dare they protect themselves surrounded by enemies that want nothing more than their eradication.

Ellison's Theatre of Tears-A Compendium

Bill Maher Calls the Koran a "Hate-Filled Book," Media Still Mum...Of Course

And the muted beat of the media goes on. Do I have to mention the double standard?

Bachmann Knows Where the Media Lie

And when they do, too.

Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann was on Laura Ingram's radio show and was asked by guest host Raymond Arroyo if she was surprised about the media "ferocity of criticism" over her gaffe about Lexington and Concord being in New Hampshire rather than Massachusetts.

BACHMANN: No, no not at all, because we all know there's a double standard in the media. And of course when President Obama said that there had been a tornado in Kansas, and 10,000 people had been killed, that wasn’t considered newsworthy when he was campaigning for president. And then he said that he was in 57 states and he was on his way to the 58th, and of course that wasn’t considered newsworthy, because as we all know, the 3,400 members of the mainstream media are part of the Obama press contingent. And this is just what we get. So it doesn’t matter which conservative is out there, if, if, if a error is made, in any way, that’s what is stated. They didn’t talk about the great crowds, the standing ovations, the wonderful time that we had in New Hampshire, and that is just the way it goes. I think that that is what we as conservatives understand.

ARROYO: Yeah, or when President Obama said the military corpse were before him instead of the mili, the Marine Corps.

BACHMANN: Right.

ARROYO: But that, too, escaped coverage.

BACHMANN: Right, it’s not considered interesting. Right, it’s not, only if a conservative makes a misstep is it considered interesting.

Why is it that everyone can see the slant, if not the outright left-wing bias of most of today's media, but not the media themselves? That was a rhetorical question, of course. They can at least give people credit for catching them in the act when they do.

The Calmness of the Japanese

I was just having a discussion with a co-worker about this. How come after such a devastating earthquake and tsunami aren't the Japanese looting and pillaging? Why aren't there paranoid calls for the Prime Minister, Naoto Kan to be impeached (or whatever the Japanese equivalence is for removal from office-something Americans can learn about when it comes to the timing of the president's reaction time) Why are they so patient and law-abiding? American Thinker's Thomas Lifson tells us.

Global Warming Caused Japan Earthquake?

That's what the president of the European Economic and Social Committee, Staffan Nilsson wants to guilt you into believing.

Uh huh, sure. Why not the launch of Discovery back in February? You know just like Mel Gibson's character said in Conspiracy Theory? That makes about as much sense. Or hey, how about Barack Obama himself?

Just a thought here, but if humans cause global warming, thus pretty much control what climate and weather patterns will occur, why doesn't Al Gore and his minions just do some sort of rain dance and help out the droughts in Africa? Or is it that they're too poor to pay him like the government does? I know they can't afford any of his carbon footprint reduction doohickies, but you would think for a guy that fancies himself a champion of the planet, he would help them out a bit instead of denying them power to thoroughly cook their food.

Dominos Horrifying, Babies Murdered by Terorists...Not So Much

When a "Palestinian" breaks into a home of Jews, murders the family (including stabbing to death an infant in the crib) liberals have no problem with it. They even go so far as to blame the victims themselves as deserving it. I mean, really. If it weren't for those pesky Jooooos being where they shouldn't, they would still be alive today, right? You know, "settlers" deserve to be killed while terrorist supporters ("Palestinian monsters, as well as the liberal media) dance in the streets (for the lib MSM it's in their anchor chairs) and hand out candy to the children that they have brain-washed and haven't decided when to kill them in a suicide-bombing run. The murderers are the vicitms you see.

But as far as MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski is concerned, the real terror comes not from "Palestinian" terrorists, but Dominos Pizza!

"Saturday night, my daughter and her friend ordered Domino's online. Do you know the horrific mound of crap that they had for dinner? It was pizza, these fried chicken balls, cinnamon sticks… then chocolate something with something that oozes out when you cut it open: lava cake. I walked in the room and looked at this display of sickness on the table. I was horrified! Horrified."

Imagine her further horror if Michelle Obama discovers what her children are eating. Or better yet, what if George W. Bush had delivered it.

A Pity of Socialism

Keith Ellison's Theatre of Tears

To say that Congressman Kieth Ellison's (D-MN) sobbing at Rep. Peter King's hearings on Muslim fanaticism (which as you know "doesn't exist") was theatre in all its grandeur is pathetic and desperate to be sure, as was his defense of the Koran on Real Time with Bill Mahr the following night. He tried to use passages that were out of context to defend radical Islam, but even the usually far-left Mahr saw through it. To not even acknowledge the radical and murderous intent of Islamic terrorists can not be seen as anything but condonement.

The left has no problem whatsoever in labeling all Christians pedophiles when (too many) priests are exposed as such, but when radical Islamists actually murder people time and time again to further their cause, apologists like Ellison leave out key passages from the holy book their attempting to defend; leaving no outs for the actual peaceful and law-abiding Muslims of the world that try to defend themselves from false and unfair accusations.

When even people like Mahr see through this charade, it has to speak volumes on the credibility and naivety of people like Ellison.

Infinitum Hypcrisy from the Left

Yeah, yeah. I know. Another "hypocrisy" post. But they come in such droves and are in such abundance, it would be a crime not to. The thing is, the left is not even remotely ashamed (or perhaps not even aware) of it. But they do it so much, and are reminded of it daily, hoe could they possibly not know?

Nothing really new here by "The Sage from South Central" Larry Elder. In fact, almost every righty who's sick and tired of the lefts elitism and propaganda has written about it until they're blue in the face and will continue to, including myself. But Elder's point is right on as usual.

Another point of view about the lefts supreme hypocrisy comes from American Thinker's Anthony W. Hager
"Maybe there is humor in assassination only when the president has an "R" beside his name."
Like with every other matter when a conservative politician is involved.

Arab League Backs No-Fly Zone Against Gaddafi

Everyone is backing the ouster of Libya's dictator and the rebel forces against him, including the Arab League and French president, Nicholas Sarkozy. Everyone that is except President Barack Obama and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton...and the UN for now.
However, Defense Secretary, Robert Gates says the no-fly zone may not be a "wise move."

Muslim Fanatics Murder Jews in West Bank, Gaza Muslims, Huff Po Moonbats Celebrate

Muslim fanatics in the West Bank murdered a Jewish family in the middle of the night, including the stabbing death of a 14-month old in the crib. The fact that the media doesn't care about this (perhaps other than the fact that they are wondering why did it take so long to murder a child in a crib when it could have been done 14 months earlier in the womb) is not a shock anymore. Nor is it a shock, unfortunately, to hear about Gaza residents celebrating it by giving out candy to other children they haven't quite decided on killing yet. Remember the celebrating in the streets of "Palestine" after 9/11?

The advocacy of this sickness by Huffington Post commentors tells us just what kind of mind-set and tolerence for evil left-wing kooks really have. Again, no shock there.

Daily Threats to Republicans in Wisconsin Keep Media Mum

More liberal threat of violence, including death threats to Wisconsin Republicans and the media doesn't seem to care enough to inform people of it. Seriously, is there even a point anymore to asking "What if Dems were getting threatened? How would the media treat it?"

What Else is New?

And by that I mean will anybody, anywhere that figures them self to be a true historian or "expert," finally tell the actual facts about Israel and "Palestine?" Ted Belman over at American Thinker is the latest to try and correct the record.

Normally the History Channel is pretty good. Even the tale of the Crusades, Jerusalem, Richard the Lionheart, Saladin, El Cid, Godfrey of Bouillon and King Baldwin IV (the Leper King) and even the Siege of Vienna was fair and told of the blood-lust of both the Christians and the Muslims. But this may just force me to re-examine the way the History Channel (and also A&E) gather their facts.

Wisconsin Unions Not Done, Threaten Businesses that Support Walker with Strikes

So after their defeat and the thinning of their tax-payer-funded wallets, Wisconsin unions are now threatening businesses that support Gov. Scott Walker with strikes. In other words, like the line goes in Goodfellas, "F**k You, Pay Me!"

Bully tactics. Alinsky tactics. Anything to increase their corrupt strangle-holds on the blue-collar worker and business owner.

Matthews Relishes in the Deaths of Japanese Tsunami Vicitims as a Reason for Obama to Reiterate His Hawaiian Roots

So Tingle the A-hole, aka Chris Matthews must really love having a small , pathetic audience as much as he loves having the president in his "Brokrback Mountain-type"dreams.

He actually said on national TV (insert lack of national audience joke here) that with thousands of Japanese tsunami victims dead and missing, it was the perfect oportunity for President Obama to remind everybody that he grew up in the United States and Hawaii."

Ah. looney tunes media professionalism at its best.

Rand Paul Layeth the Smacketh Down

He's making the most out of his new position, that's for sure.
Here he is giving it to the Department of Energy deputy assistant secretary on energy efficiency, Kathleen Hogan.

Tsunami Earthquake Hits Japan and Pacific

Reports are varying about what the actual readings were. Some say 8.6, others 8.8. Regardless, it was a "Big One." Obviously the death tolls will grow considerably. It has already hit Hawaii and British Columbia can expect to see the rising waters as well.

More from CNN and BBC.

Jihadist Hearings Bring Out the Apologists

Not to mention a weepy Kieth Ellison, who for some reason starting sobbing when relating the kind of irrelevant story of a young Muslim named Mohammed Salman Hamdani who apparently was discriminated against when helping out to save lives on 9/11 before dying a hero when the towers came down.

Of course the bleeding hearts and "denialists" are crying foul...and racism, of course, but to deny the obvious is foolish and suicide. There's no secret here. There's no need for any decoder rings; Jihadists want the west destroyed and it's people to convert or killed. It's that simple. They've said it themselves for years, decades, centuries even. I'm getting mighty sick of having to repeat that this doesn't mean all Muslims are a threat. Do I have to say that all Germans aren't Nazis? Critics are asking, with credence, I suppose, why aren't there hearings on all the groups wanting to bring down the American government? I don't know. How many neo-Nazis or white supremacists hijack commercial airliners? How many have killed almost 3000 people in one day? How many attack and kill Christians and even fellow Muslims on almost a daily basis? And again, how many of these other hate groups have stated they will rule the world? That's why.

The left and terrorist appeasers are already comparing these hearings to the House hearings on "Un-American Activities" in the fifties. I sure hope the results are the same, because you see regardless of what the left claims what is now known as "McCarthyism," McCarthy was right. There were communists that were exposed in the American government. Does the name Rosenthal ring a bell? Every person named at those hearings to be communists were communists. They neglect to tell you that.
By the way, Sen. McCarthy had nothing to do with the actual hearings. He was a Senator and did not participate in the House hearings.

So go Rep. King and expose those who wish to recruit young Americans by brainwashing them into hating America and the West and killing their fellow citizens.

Yeah, Whatever Newt

Forget the fact that former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, had an extra-marital affair. If he was a lefty, not only would he be forgiven of it, he would be their hero, a la Bill Clinton. But to say that his love of country, that he was working so hard to make it better, is the reason he made that "mistake" is a little north of lame.

People of Wisconsin Win as State Reps Outsmart AWOL Dems

It's over and the tax payer of Wisconsin has won. Thinking by abandoning their jobs to represent Wisconsinites by running and hiding in Illinois (who payed for the two weeks stay at Motel 6?) Wisconsin State Democrats were outsmarted by Gov. Scott Walker and the Republicans.

But the peaceful, humble protesters and purveyors of sucking blue-collar workers dry took it well at least.

And has anyone actually listened to Gov. Walker about why he is taking the stance that he did, without cutting him off and spinning his message? Not that I know of.

Pathological Media

Via American Thinker's James Lewis, a great article on media cover-ups, omissions, bias, false fears and "Palinphobia."

Along with that is another excellent media v.s. the American people story. This time asking why the media enablers of Muslim extremism don't even want hearings by Congressman Peter King to do his duty and try to protect Americans from the perilous dangers they face from Islamists and why the media and their acts of delusion protects them instead of their own fellow Americans and Westerners.

When is enough, enough?

Brian De Palma Responsible for American Soldiers Shot in Germany?

Think like a liberal for a second. I know it hurts, that's why I said just for a second.

When all the libtards across the planet were actually happy when they found a way to pin the shooting of Democrat Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords on Sarah Palin (even though by now everybody knows-and that's just not the same thing libs say when they want you to think that everyone does believe their innuendos and lies-that Jared Loughner had no political affiliations and did not pay attention to political rhetoric from either side and no targets on a map made any difference on his state of mind) that school of thought can now be put into action concerning far-left liberal film maker, Brian De Palma and his bomb of a film, Redacted. It made almost nothing at the box-office, but apparently it served its purpose in getting Americans killed.

Good job Mr. De Palma. Your message got through to the right people. Sleep well.

Unions Are for Unions

Since, once again, the media has taken it upon themselves to confuse and lie to people about what the Wisconsin battle is really about with their own fabricated narrative, it takes the brilliant Thomas Sowell to explain that it's not about "public workers" (aka government workers) it's not about taking money or benefits from teachers, it's about the unions wanting to "negotiate" for more of everything whenever they can. It's about the unions taking money from the taxpayers and keeping them under their collective, powerful thumbs (including teachers) to further fatten their own wallets under the guise of "fair treatment."

The biggest myth about labor unions is that unions are for the workers. Unions are for unions, just as corporations are for corporations and politicians are for politicians.
Nothing shows the utter cynicism of the unions and the politicians who do their bidding like the so-called "Employee Free Choice Act" that the Obama administration tried to push through Congress. Employees' free choice as to whether or not to join a union is precisely what that legislation would destroy.

Workers already have a free choice in secret-ballot elections conducted under existing laws. As more and more workers in the private sector have voted to reject having a union represent them, the unions' answer has been to take away secret-ballot elections.
Under the "Employee Free Choice Act," unions would not have to win in secret-ballot elections in order to represent the workers. Instead, union representatives could simply collect signatures from the workers until they had a majority.

Why do we have secret ballots in the first place, whether in elections for unions or elections for government officials? To prevent intimidation and allow people to vote how they want to, without fear of retaliation.
This is a crucial right that unions want to take away from workers. The actions of union mobs in Wisconsin, Ohio and elsewhere give us a free home demonstration of how little they respect the rights of those who disagree with them and how much they rely on harassment and threats to get what they want.

It takes world-class chutzpah to call circumventing secret ballots the "Employee Free Choice Act." To unions, workers are just the raw material used to create union power, just as iron ore is the raw material used by U.S. Steel and bauxite is the raw material used by the Aluminum Company of America.

The most fundamental fact about labor unions is that they do not create any wealth. They are one of a growing number of institutions which specialize in siphoning off wealth created by others, whether those others are businesses or the taxpayers.
There are limits to how long unions can siphon off money from businesses, without facing serious economic repercussions.

The most famous labor union leader, the legendary John L. Lewis, head of the United Mine Workers from 1920 to 1960, secured rising wages and job benefits for the coal miners, far beyond what they could have gotten out of a free market based on supply and demand.
But there is no free lunch.
An economist at the University of Chicago called John L. Lewis "the world's greatest oil salesman."

His strikes that interrupted the supply of coal, as well as the resulting wage increases that raised its price, caused many individuals and businesses to switch from using coal to using oil, leading to reduced employment of coal miners. The higher wage rates also led coal companies to replace many miners with machines.
The net result was a huge decline in employment in the coal mining industry, leaving many mining towns virtually ghost towns by the 1960s. There is no free lunch.
Similar things happened in the unionized steel industry and in the unionized automobile industry. At one time, U.S. Steel was the largest steel producer in the world and General Motors the largest automobile manufacturer. No more. Their unions were riding high in their heyday, but they too discovered that there is no free lunch, as their members lost jobs by the hundreds of thousands.

Workers have also learned that there is no free lunch, which is why they have, over the years, increasingly voted against being represented by unions in secret ballot elections.
One set of workers, however, remained largely immune to such repercussions. These are government workers represented by public sector unions.

While oil could replace coal, while U.S. Steel dropped from number one in the world to number ten, and Toyota could replace General Motors as the world's leading producer of cars, government is a monopoly. Nobody is likely to replace the federal or state bureaucracies, no matter how much money the unions drain from the taxpayers.
That is why government unions continue to thrive while private sector unions decline. Taxpayers provide their free lunch.

Actually, This is Pretty Cool

If he starts his own brewery (not only will he finally learn about the free market and how, presumably, to meet a payroll) maybe he can pay off the national debt.

About Those High Oil and Gas Prices

Another reminder of the hypocritical and opportunistic minset of the liberal poltician. Back in 2006 when high prices at the gas pumps were all the rage, the Democrats (that were in control of all three houses of Congress and made the laws-if not set the actual prices) were crying foul that President Bush and the Republicans were somehow keeping oil prices high (and that it apparently had absolutely nothing to do with OPEC) for their own political agendas. Now that the prices are again skyrocketing (as they were in 2008, but again, the Dems controlled Congress by then) no one from the DNC is saying a word (other than the lying, disgusting ignorant Michael Moore types-who's own millions simply cannot be touched, or even mentioned, for inclusion in the Marxist plans of "spreading the wealth"-that will jump on any Republican-hating bandwagon to fatten their own wallets)

Where is the irate media? Where are the public protests? Oh, wait a Democrat is in the White House now. Duh.

With Undeniable Proof of the Latter, Lefty Pundits Claim "Radical Right" More Dangerous than Jihadis

As crazy as it sounds, with all the proof in the last, at least 18 years (Clinton through Obama) "expert" opinions from the left strain to convince the average person that the "radical right" in the U.S. is more of a threat than extremist Muslims. The same with Ezra Klein and Tavis Smiley, who claim with no historical proof, that "We've Had School Shootings From Young Christians," and "Christians do that every single day in this country." Have you finished laughing yet? Yeah. I'd like to know exactly what they're talking about too.

Like a commentor chimed in with, "Instead of only concentrating on Muslims, I think King should hold hearings examining terrorism by ALL religions. then we can really see once and for all the danger that Christian suicide bombers and Jewish airplane hijackers pose for us. not to mention those vicious Buddhists."

Of course, the left has been using Timothy McVeigh as a template for anything or anybody right of center that has the most basic fundamental disagreements with government policy for years. All the crazy lefties and extremist Muslims that attack government installations, Jewish places of worship; bomb boutiques, weddings, schools and of course bring down symbolic financial institutions and airplanes loaded with people, are always "isolated instances," never domestic terror. Another commentor stated an obvious, one that clearly hasn't entered the brain of left-wing propagandists like Klein, that "they are blowing people up specifically in the name of Islam and are doing so in order to advance the cause of the Muslim religion and extend Islamic political power. If a Christian, or even an atheist, or a Muslim or a Hindu, decides to blow people up in order to advance the cause of Christianity, that will be a problem too ... if it ever happens."

They continue to try and paint Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the Columbine shooters, as "Christians." The same goes for their "go-to homegrown terrorist from the right" (again, the only "Christian" one they can name within the last 16 years) Maybe they were baptised as children and that is what the left is going on labeling them Christians, but I don't recall any reports of witnesses hearing Klebold or Harris shouting "God is great!" or "In the name of Christianity!" as they carried out their mass murders. Even their favourite "example" McViegh didn't leave any martyr videos or notes claiming to "kill in the name of Jesus." And to that I say what I've been saying, if someone were to engage in a terrorist plot, planning it and executing it, they would by their own actions give evidence of not being a Christian. Jesus taught the opposite of terrorism--to love one's enemies, and to personally do good to those who mean you harm. The Bible doesn't teach terrorism in either Testament, so there is no theological or doctrinal foundation that would allow someone to label an individual as a "Christian terrorist."

For people put in a position of "expertise," these guys sure need to open their eyes and ears and surrender to common sense. You know, that thing everyone else calls critical thinking.

Atheism Wins the Death Total

How many people has religion killed? Well, I say zero, since people kill people, not religion. Now the tenents of the different religions (and you can say that religion calls for the deaths of people, but again, do all religious people take up arms against each other? Do all people that take their families to church on Sunday or to Mosque on Friday kill for their religion?) have their strict rules to be sure, but does the average religious follower believe in death over life? There is a lot of evidence that certain religions' holy books say that followers must adhere to their "rules" with no question. That includes the killings of homosexuals, the stoning of children and adulteress adults, etc.

But to say that religion has killed more people than Atheism is ignorant at best and willfully misleading at worst. Just look at the results of Josef Stalin's implementation of Atheism alone. 12 million people dead. Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, three million dead. Mao, 20 million dead; and so on. Even if you look at the death tolls of the Crusades (which in their totals, were military defeats for the Christians save for one) that were for all intents and purposes, religious wars; the death totals were approximately nine million. Given that the population totals of all of Europe (the "known world") was in the neighborhood of 22-25 million people. How then, during these "religious wars," did religion kill more people than the Atheism openly exhibited by Stalin an the rest? To date, the numbers just aren't there.

Bomb Threat Made Against Walker, Media Mum

More passive, nonviolent, tolerance from the left. I'm still waiting for the "terrorist organization" known as the Tea Party to start their violence. They have to make up for lost time with all the union thug violence and threats in the last two or so weeks.

Media Misled Public on Wisconsin Polling Data

Once again, the MSM has worded questions on a data poll to get the results they want to further mislead the public about the Wisconsin unions taking money from the taxpayers to further fatten their wallets and benefit packages. Something the liberal media is apparently terrified to do, given that it would most assuredly skew their pro-union spin and get the truth to the people.

Along with that, much like in ancient times, Wisconsin’s Teachers: Betraying Students, Robbing Taxpayers

Stewart Not on the Money

I have this buddy who, every time the Wisconsin question comes up, he gives me sarcastically-wrapped quotes from Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert.
First off, it must be reiterated that Stewart himself has said multiple times that he is a "fake news" reader. His show is a parody. The people that read The Onion understand this. You don't hear people going around using items from that web-page as facts about human events. So why do lefties insist on regurgitating quotes and "information" that comes out of Stewart's mouth? It seems his show and MTV News are the two most institutions of info for the under 25 crowd. What does that tell you about how little the youth really know what's going on. But, it makes them laugh (assuming they even get the premise and know the players involved) and all their friends watch it,so it must be cool and informative.

Nevermind the fact that Stewart doesn't have all the facts, or if he does, he is clearly spinning his "information" for the benefit of a) his audience, who much like Bill Maher's audience are really no more than trained seals and applaud at anything he says and does. And b) he is a lefty, so no amount of actual truth won't get untouched and spun to defend the liberal spin and misinformation designed to besmirch the reputation and campaign promises of Gov. Scott Walker.

From Big Hollywood, John Nolte explains from the land of the sane and obvious and about what Walker really intends for the unions-and NOT the "government workers" that the left and the MSM have purposely labeled the fight to confuse the public.
